    BP harness wiring tuck / delete / wires needed to run megasquirt

    Im bored playing with paintshop and figured id do something people can use for a reference when removing the unneeded wiring in the bp harness.

    Main needed sensors/inputs:

    CLT sensor
    IAT sensor
    Wideband o2 sensor
    CKP sensor
    Ignition module
    Coil
    Fuel injectors

    Optional:
    Linear TPS
    IAC
    Clutch pedal switch
    Cooling fan

    Items to remove:
    DRL relay
    DLC
    AC switch
    AC pressure switch
    AC WOT cut off
    O2 sensor
    AFM -requires rewiring of ground switch to trigger fuel pump relay
    Non linear TPS
    Vics solenoid ( save for injector 3 or 4 wiring for seq. fuel)
    Fuel pressure regulator solenoid ( save for injector 3 or 4 wiring for seq. fuel)
    Brake on/off switch
    Power steering pressure switch
    Keep alive power

    the diagram is pretty self explanitory once you get all the plasitic and tape off.

    if theres anything you would like added just post up and ill change whats needed

    next im going to do a set of diagrams for the PNP harness between the ms and the engine harness, sort of like the miata diagrams are set up in miatawiki from brain and rick and everyone over there.

    im doing this because im sick of people being scared to get into megasquirt due to lack of wiring info and other help. we gotta start some where , and the miata guys are blowing us away with the amount of ms units installed on thier cars. this really isnt as bad as alot of people think.... im no genius with this stuff, but being in the trade for long enough i can figure out alot of what i need to do, and if i cant, i just ask, no ones perfect...lol.... now on to the before and after diagrams....

    oh and while i think about it, all the wires, connectors and dlc box removed leaves you with almost 10lbs of wires....

        it is, id like to get us about par with the miata forum info, we really dont have much. i had to go there when i went ms to learn anything about it...lol...

            ya soon as i find another to do ill take some pics, i didnt take many of the last one i did. alot of this stuff would transfer over to the gtx/gtr ecu guys too , aside from the AFM and what if any of the diag box they really wanna keep... i already removed the wires in the fuel harness back when i set it up for a resistor box this shows that part atleast...

                i have 3 more stripped harness diagrams, and i did the harness side of the pnp harness, tomarrow ill do the db37 connector and write up what goes to what

                  When I replaced my engine I pulled a few of those wires out. Of course since in still using the factory evil I can't pull a lot of things

                    Are you saying only 17 wires are needed at the ECU from the engine harness? What about the rest?!

                    I'm sorry for the stupid question, I'm just having a hard time grasping this after I've carefully chosen which wires to keep and which to delete from my other wire harness, when I could have almost chopped them all.

                        sorry to bring back a old post but
                        I like this tread and I work presently on wire in the megasquirt

                        when you ask the tps sensor.
                        I'm ok with the Vref and the sig rtn, but what is the WOT and where did you jump the wire in the megasquirt?
