Club Protege's 2012 West Side Meet

So, as mentioned in the national meet, it might be easier to break it into a west/east side meet.

My suggestion for the west side meet, to make it fair to everyone, is to meet in pretty much the dead center of the west side, which would be Salt Lake City, Utah.

Anybody have any suggestions or ideas on this? Or know or have thoughts on where else to have it where we can camp/stay and still have activities to do?

    Let's get this thing started!

I've decided that my car is a girl, she's picky as hell, won't listen to me, always wants to fight me, and when i give her presents it's never good enough and she always wants more.

Utah sounds fair. We should do an Oregon convoy or something

I do believe I already suggested that, but nobody said yes, so we moved onto this idea of splitting. Now, no?

I'm okay with Utah, but several things have to be decided upon in order to pull this off. Location, accomodations, venue, local events, business that might be willing to host or sponsor a lunch or something, local car companies (i.e. autobody shops, after-market tune-shops, parts supply stores and so on) that might want to help us in exchange for some promotion for them and stuff like that. If we had some members in the Utah area who wouldn't mind doing some leg work, this could be a great esperience. We need somebody to good at marketing and talking this thing up. I'm wondering what race tracks are in Utah that might allow us to use their facility (it would probably cost us something) or if there is a drag racing event or other racing event happening during the summer that we could tie this thing to?

Some restaurants might be willinjg to offer discounts if we have enough members go have a meal at their place. We need to find out what restaurants might be willing to do that. If none, we need someobdy to look at cheap places for us to eat at as a group. Also, farther down the road, we might be able to get discounts at a local motel if we reserve enough rooms for the event. However, those discounts usually only happen if our event's date doesn't coincide with smoething else that might be going on during the same time period.

Lost to think about, lots to do if we really want to make this a great event.

            Just sayin'......

Whatever Utah experience you’re after — from hiking National Parks to touring Temple Square, you'll be able to tailor each detail of your trip, all in one spot.

Well, it is kinda short hand to be setting all this up in a matter of 4-5 months. We might be able to get a discount on motel rooms, but I'm sure that is about it. We can see if there are any import shops or car events going on. But unless you want to take on all that you suggested, then it probably won't happen due to nobody having lots of free time.

And hell, looking at he parks in Utah, it almost makes me want to take my jeep so I can go to Moab and go play on the rocks! I think having the option to stay at a park, or have a barbeque at a park is a nice option too.

Camp is the way to go. Pack some service tents, and we have a roof in case of crappy weather to drink under.

I have been to Moab and its a great place. Zion national park is a nice spot also and borders Utah/Arizona, too bad there are way to many people driving slow to enjoy the awesome corners.

We need to have somebody step forward and make a decision. Someone who's also going to spearhead (with a lot of help) to organize this. If nobody steps up, this ain't gonna happen. If we don't compromise because it's not the "ideal" situation or setting, then people won't go and the event will fail. We need to make a decision, we need to support it as best we can. After all, great events happen because of people with great attitudes and who are willing to help make it a great event.
