    OBD2 chip

Hey guys just wanna know what you think of the obd2 performance chips out there.
    Bs or not?

An example of one I'm considering.

I went to the Volo Performance website. I selected the VP12 Performance Chip listed for my car. First, I calculated my estimated BHP and Torque gains without any add-ons. According to their calc, my estimated HP gain would be 14, and my estimated Torque gain would be 12.25. Gollee, 14 more HP than those incompetent engineers at Mazda were able to extract from my mismanaged powerplant.

Next, I calculated my estimated HP and torque increase taking into account the fact that I have a CAI, Performance Plugs and Wires, and a High Flow Exhaust System. Now, my estimated HP gain would be 18.4 and my estimated Torque would rise to 15.75. Holy Moley, what was Mazda thinking of?

Note that Volo doesn't specify whether the HP is brake or wheel or if the Torque is brake or tractive effort.

"Real world gains may be less or more depending on a large number of contributing factors. Volo Performance promises a minimum gain of 10HP."

I'm not sure but I thought I read somewhere that P.T.Barnum IV is Volo's chief engineer.

Fourteen more HP from a chip change alone?

    I humbly assert BS!

    Happy Motoring!
