A heads up to anyone interested in BJ suspension, subframes, brakes, rotors, calipers, knuckles and such. I'm going to either sell said items or trade it out for some of the stuff I need for this project. I'm mainly looking for some Miata and Rx7 bits atm.

ya that stp yellow drag car is the one i was talking about in my previous post lucky for you they are close by. did they have to cut out alot of the firewall to make the rwd trans fit or does it go under the firewall mostly?

heres something interesting to think about.. a bunch of us got the e153 toyota trans adaptor plates made by jon. the 4wd e153 would probably fit into the 3rd gen without modifying the firewall (though i am just speculating as i have never seen it mocked up, but the gtx/gtr guys run e153 and i dont think they had to mod the firewall). I know the driver side frame rail needs a bit of modding but i think that it aside from custom mounts.

I wonder if the e153 4wd trans had the front axles removed and was converted to rwd if it would be able to take any abuse. I know the evo guys have converted to rear drive for drifting but have no idea if the e153 would stand up to rwd only abuse. because if it could, and you found a sport20 awd rear subframe, gas tank etc. it would be much easier than custom everything.

oem sport20 rear end/suspension/subframe etc. , then a bp motor mounted in traditional fwd horizonal fashion with e153 adaptor plate & e153 trans up front, and of course a custom driveshaft in the middle...for me with my not so great fab skills that would seem like the easiest way to get to rwd..

sorry for the long brainstorm ill try to keep half thought out ideas out of your thread lol but regardless whatever you decide we are very interested in pics etc and would love to see how you get er done

STP used some crazy built racing trans, so most likley the amount of tunnel cut wont apply to this or most common swaps but it does atleast give a working example to refferrence for rear end and BP related ends

Something else that I'm looking into is Subaru gear. Thanks to Silex for taking the time out to snap some pics for me of his Legacy/Forester.

New temp wheels should be here Monday I ended up finding some cheap 15x6.5 voxx 347's for it.

Took it for a ride yesterday afternoon and well... I think the FS is donesky already LOL. Rolling smoke stack, lacking power, and awful noises coming from behind the timing cover and bottom end. This is really going to screw with when I start the build as the FS was supposed to stay running for a bit longer. I just might have to go pull a junkyard BP or something if it goes BOOM!!!

Forgot to mention the fact that it has the ability to run normally without the maf plugged in.. If you unplug it, it takes a second to idle down real low and then it picks right back up like it was never unplugged and drives the same as if it was plugged in. That means the ecu is pretty much already ignoring it being there.

maybe just meet with another FS owner and try swapping mafs to see if thats the issue then. car will run like poop with no accurate maf

Heh IDGAF about the FS. To me, it's just a waste of time and money to keep it going. I actually have a spare BP bottom sitting in the garage that I keep forgetting about. Already decided that my BPT will not be going in until the RWD conversion is complete. Which reminds me that I need to spend some time pulling stuff from the egt one of these weekends.

It looks good. Does the fs in that p5 have the coil plug type or is it just spark plugs. IF it has the coil plug type let me know when your parting because I may want the coils and wires.
