i do have to say. i love the miata rear disc upgrade. having similar sized (but 5 lug) setup on my own car. it sure gives proper rear brake balance.
however.... do us all a favor & just pull that dust shield off. not only does it look ridiculous now. its purpose of intent is completely destroyed.

I agree. The braking performance has a much more balanced feel. I intend on swapping on the miata calipers later when I have a new set of braided lines.

Well the intake manifold arrived. It's exciting to have the main motor parts coming in. I intend on buying bearings, rings, and gaskets soon once the funds are available.
I will be acquiring a set of 330cc injectors from a member with special adapters to fit the bp rail. The injectors are much more efficient and offer a better spray pattern. They should be ample for my power goal.

In other news, my shifter base came apart in the rubber area and dropped on the exhaust about two days ago. Drove me nuts because sometimes the shifter would lodge itself between the exhaust and the tunnel under the car, so I would occasionally be stuck in gear or not be able to engage a gear. I fixed that today with a m6x1.0 35mm flange bolt, a rubber furniture stopper which I drilled out for the bolt, and a locking m6x1.0 nut. Drilled through the shifter base, and through the stabilizer rod. The rubber stop is sandwiched between the stabilizer rod and the base, and the bolt secures it. I also tightened up the linkage everywhere because it had some play. Also adjusted the clutch pedal, now that I have about 1k miles on the new clutch setup.

I will reveal the information after I have everything ready. Within a month, but I will tell you it's a fairly new car, and its domestic.

It's a kia 2.4 intake that BP Performance Specialties was using on their shop car until they upgraded to an evo intake.

The intended path is naturally aspirated with 150whp. Probably more with compression.

Just wanted to update this as I've recently done some work and bought some things.
Standalone ecu and custom harness is here:

I intend on posting a review of the products I use for this build in the future. The ecu is an Evo8 unit, and a custom harness to run the bp engine. It relies on the cam angle sensor. The harness has the proper plugs for the injectors I intend on using. Also added on is provisions for 2 step as well as coil on plug. I am using geo metro lsi coils with a custom plate to mount them.

The pacesetter header I was using on Dhoopty had some issues come up as I drove the car more. Mainly, there are irreparable cracks that a welder just can't reach. So I scrapped it and now have a svt focus header adapted to the bp flange. I used scraps of metal I had around to build the downpipe and still retain the factory o2 sensor. I think I have about $75 invested in the header so far.
Damn, does it make a difference! The car seriously woke up after putting this header on, although there are some factors involved as to why I didn't receive the best performance from the pacesetter. I feel like the cams paired with this free flowing exhaust make for a potent combination.
Really though, this header beats the old 4-2-1 pacesetter and the custom one I was rocking. I didn't doubt it would. I mean, the regular Focus guys pick up 15hp with a svt header.

This conversion took 2 die grinder cut off wheels and a sanding flap wheel. I had to clearance the transmission crossmember, as well as the bottom sheet metal on the radiator, for the secondary tubes to fit. I used my BFH to do the final touches. The primary tubes almost perfectly line up with a bp flange. You can easily persuade each tube into the best angle possible for tack welds and testing.

Still have a lot to do.. next plan is to index some iridium ngk plugs and wrap the header. My intake heat soaks pretty bad.

If anyone needs a gtx oil pan, let me know. I have no intention of turbocharging.

personally i believe the 2.4 kia manifold is better. it has a larger plenum & longer runners over the evo intake. better suited for the BP IMHO(at least for useable power)
neat job on repairing the SVT header. i wish i had a zetec header right about now (i happened to get a free focus wagon)

I received the 330cc injectors and they look sweet. They should interact well with the evo8 ecu and custom harness! The next purchase is an omni 4bar map sensor. That should complete the parts collecting for a while.

Today's events put one more piece of the puzzle together on this build. I've been saving some mx3 GS rear lateral arms for an upgrade. The long bolts got stuck and I ended up removing all of the bushing cages just to start fresh. My press came apart one time as a bushing ejected from a lateral arm. The bottle jack made its way off the press. Haha.
Whiteline bushings fit the mx3 lateral arms. They are normally for a 89-94 gtx. I did not expect to get a use out of the whiteline bushings, as they did not fit anything I owned when I bought them. On the off chance they might fit these lateral arms, I pulled them out of storage. Just have to buy some Nissan Altima 98-01 front sway bar endlinks.

super F-in fancy!! cool to see theres yet another poly fitment out there for those rear bushes.
im surprised you got anything to move with the 12 ton press. I've maxed mine a few times. wish to god i would've bought a 20 ton so I could do gearsets.
