k, just checking, thanks! I don't have a defrost switch per say, like for the rear window, I just want the defroster to kick on when I turn the knob! I really appreciate your help man, even just confirming my thoughts is a major stress relief.
I got the bp harness stripped of the tape and wrap, time to do some work, but it's kinda daunting..
yes, i did it on the bed, yes, my fiancee is peeved, yes, the bedsheet will be changed when I'm done, by me..

When I cut out the Vics solenoid wires, that doesn't keep vics from working does it, it's vacuum controlled valves right?1993 Ford Festiva - Fiona/b6 swap

it is vacume "actuated" but is controlled by the ecu via the solenoid. you need the solenoid to control it"Discontent is the first necessity of progress."

ok i was thinking maybe once so much pressure built up it would just open on it's own and work without electronic help, I'll see what I can do to not have to cut it out for now.
the tps is really confusing me on yuns diagram, the book says the 1N is the idle wire from the 3 wire tps, but he's using an old vaf wire (2k vref) spliced into the tps wire. Should I just use the stock wires for idle and wot on the tps and ground it out? on his diagram the sig rtn gets spliced into the coolant sensor wire too. It's throwing me off since he used the 4 wire tps socket on the chopped diagram and the 3 wire on the regular diagram.
No fuel pressure regulator either? I know it controls the injectors, but wouldn't it be nice to bump up the fuel pressure for more fuel beyond the max capacity of the stock injectors (to a point..) with more pressure and less pulse time? I am just not understanding how this is going to work. If I get oversized injectors I could get an adjustable FPR to lower the pressure, but couldn't the same thing be done from a laptop if that is hooked up?Last edited by zoom-zoom; 07-06-2012, 01:08 PM.1993 Ford Festiva - Fiona/b6 swap

for the record, that small 2 wire unidentified socket was with white/red and white/blue was for the EVAP canister1993 Ford Festiva - Fiona/b6 swap

I decided against stripping all those wires, I'll just leave them hooked up like they are, I did remove the evap canister socket, that stuffs junk.
2 wires here that are on a white socket somewhere in the dash, don't know what they're for.
a yellow/blue, and a black/brown
the yellow/blue turns into a shielded wire and runs out to splice/branch out in 3 wires, one goes to the DLC box, one goes to the coil, one goes to the ignitor. I think I should ground it but I don't want to "just" do something, what do you guys think/know?
the black/brown wire runs out to the fuel rail, I'm not sure what it connects to there I don't have that harness unwrapped.1993 Ford Festiva - Fiona/b6 swap

looking at the chiltons manual I think that yellow/blue is the new tach signal wire to the cluster?!!?!?
is the water thermosensor important?Last edited by zoom-zoom; 07-06-2012, 03:48 PM.1993 Ford Festiva - Fiona/b6 swap

yea, still working on it, I keep going crosseyed trying to look at this, then that, then those, and it's all a blurr and I'm drooling on my chest slouched in the chair..
Do you have a diagram of the fuel pump relay for a bp? this relay I have on the harness is confusing me hardcore, the wires don't match up to be the right wires for a main relay in my diagrams. I'm thinking it could be the FP relay itself and I need to rewire my main relay and do the opposite of what i was going to do.
thanks for those diagrams you made up, I printed out a couple copys and it's really helped me sort out this mess, what I have so far anway. it's down to a couple wires, just short on the BP diagrams..i have a evtm for the car i'm working on..it spoiled meLast edited by zoom-zoom; 07-06-2012, 04:55 PM.1993 Ford Festiva - Fiona/b6 swap

Also, i checked this with a multimeter. Removing that ground means no +12v.
I'm talking about the connector that plugs into the fuse box.

Black/brown = ground for coolant sensor
Black/orange= Supplies temp for coolant gauge in cluster

^ yea, I just removed the cpp sensor wires altogether from the bp harness, I'll use the wires already on my aspire harness for that. The black wires are a common ground, they go to a common grounding point by the DLC box. A thicker black wire comes off those and just goes back to the socket the br/yellow wire was on..it's gone.
wow, man I think.. I don't want to say it yet, but thank you for your help this far, i think I have that diagram for the turbo car, I just wasn't seeing it, TY!!
I SWEAR THAT ORANGE WIRE LOOKED BROWN...
(famous last words)
I did have the relay mixed up, the one on the BP engine harness is a Fuel Pump relay, not a Main Relay, so I'll splice the wires back together for the Aspire Main Relay and go from there. there's only about 15 wires total that need spliced to do this that I can tell, so we'll see what happens.
one more question, the ECU on a protege is mounted up above the driver side kick panel isn't it? With all the new extra added room on the passenger side I'm thinking about putting it over there and comming out the pass. side, or maybe even straight out the firewall if I can seal it up good enough.Last edited by zoom-zoom; 07-06-2012, 06:19 PM.1993 Ford Festiva - Fiona/b6 swap

I'm messing with this stuff again, sorry for the late reply..
So far I've reconnected my main relay, I had it and the FP relays confused, I'm trying to bypass the opening circuit relay/fuel pump relay wiring on the bps harness. I'm missing something...
My existing fuel pump relay has 4 wires, one of them is the trigger and I can't figure out where it needs to be spliced. The light green wire that used to go to the VAF isn't getting power anymore since the opening circuit relay is disposed of. The purple wire is 1C on the ecu and splices into the clutch petals position sensor, that part is done.
I cannot figure out where the fuel pump/opening circuit relay trigger is, on the aspire wiring it came from the ECU, that slot is empty on the protege ecu, so I'm lost. I don't have the protege fuse box, and that light green wire is obsolete.1993 Ford Festiva - Fiona/b6 swap
