    Rear fog light wiring

Hey guys, for any of you that have installed a rear fog light garnish on their GTR/GTX/323, how did you go about doing it? My GTR does not appear to have the wiring harness for the fog lights. I figured Mazda would have put in the same rear hatch harness into all 323's and tied back the unused wiring for the rear fogs. I guess not?

yea i dont think youre gonna find a plug and play solution. i think the wiring on the european ones were different. just gonna have to snake a wire through the cabin to a switch.. or just splice it in with the brake light and have some bright brake lights haha. also i forgot to reply to your pm, but if youre still looking for a lower spoiler, lmk. ill sell sell you the one with broken bolts for cheap

Hmm, I think I'de like to wire it into the same switch that turns the front fog lights on. I'll have to run a wire all the way through the cabin, and up into the liftgate for the fog lights I guess.

can't you splice it in with your reverse lights? or are you wanting to use the fogs for other reasons that reversing? lol

I thought of splicing it in for the brake lights or the reverse lights, as both would be useful in the real world. I'm not sure which one I'll do yet. The brake lights would be a nice safety thing, as there is no way a person behind me will not see when I'm on my brakes lol.

How bright are these rear fogs though? They use a normal 1156 bulb which is the same as any other tailight bulb, and those aren't particularily bright.

Do you know what bulb they take? I've only seen the german "fog light" at the rear end because most people think it turns on their front fog lights lol....and it's as bright as brake lights but consistently on lol.

It's a normal 1156 bulb. I may just wire them to come on when the other brake lights go on. Not the ones that are constantly on, but the ones that go on only when you hit the brakes.

If you have an LED spoiler that'd make for an easy connection lol

I fitted a rear fog light switch and switch a relay to turn on the inner brake lights as fog lights and it works a treat :-)
