so with the weather hitting a (feels like ) 105* i decided F**K waiting for the Boss to fix the AC in the work cars and fixed all 3 myself LOL.

apparently if you change the vent control selector with the fan on high the force of the air over the flap will bend the control cable and then pop it off the selector ( awesome engineering and materials selection Nissan ) so i fabbed up a cable and ran it to the glove box. now we get mediocre ac from the vents and not just directed at the windshield. woo hoo !!!

I don't know if you know this but Nissans are largely awful in all respects.

My old 85 Z and and the old 88 hardbody my dad used for a work vehicle were pretty good, but thats the limit to Nissan experience. The few newer models that I have worked on were all awful, namely the Quest and Maxima, and that VQ engine is great until you have to work on one.

Agreed. Nissan used to be pretty darn good. These days, not so much. I don't know wtf they're doing wrong, but man it's endemic. Styling, engineering, it's all pretty awful. Makes me give an even more sincere golfclap to Mazda, who managed to make the new miotter weigh within a pound of the original one. In this day and age that's something to cheer about. I kinda wanna give one o' them a go and see how it gets along.

I've had a 93 NX2000, 92 Maxima SE, and now the 92 240SX. The NX had fun wiring issues, water leaks, rusty A-pillars, and was on engine #3 when it was totaled. The Max ran on five cylinders at most (on engine #2), would shut itself off on the highway, and had an alarm with a mind of its own. The 240 is on its third engine, is about to get its third clutch, and has covered 1500ish miles in the four years I've owned it because it's constantly broken.

every time I own a Nissan I tell myself that I'm not buying another, and I keep thinking about looking for a nice NX when I get down to Miami (because I am an idiot, apparently).

                    ugh I KNOW

I just don't have the space or inclination to work on anything there.

I miss my dumb little eggmobile and its leaky t-tops something fierce though.

Has the audi had the headgakset/timing belt replaced yet? Also throw a few coil packs in the glove box. ****ing germans.

Today I picked up a new OEM rear exhaust bracket for the s13 for $30 including hardware.

Also taking another pass at getting the headlight motors to work proper.

                          Going great clearly.

Yes the timing belt has been replaced on it. I do not believe the 1.8 is known for eating head gaskets. I'll be rebuilding it for a bigger turbo than the k04, so not too worried about it. I ain't keeping it stock by any means LOL

(pretty sure I spun right after this picture was taken, if I got too aggressive on the entry that bump mid-corner made the car snap around)

What are you running for additional steering angle?

I've almost gotten the coupe on the road legally. I've lined out the suspension budget for the next few months and it seems dooable as well. Still need to relocate the battery though as held on by a bungee cored and a piece of cardboard above the window washer bottle is not a happy place for it.

Also got the digital hud working, well except for the back-light. I probably blew some fuse or trace somewhere.

Can't drive at night either way so no bother.
