started the timing belt replacement/maintenance bull**** on my dad's 97M tonight. I will no longer bitch about not having room to work on the engine in the 240, this **** is ridiculous.

Like... 97M Miata? Or something else? Miata timing belt job, especially on a BP05, is like.... 45 minutes.

if you're used to them, sure. I haven't touched one since I sold mine and so I'm sure I'm making things harder for myself.

                also, seriously: tiny engine bay.

Do you has the FM crank pulley tool?

no. the original plan was to pull the fans and hit the bolt with a rattle gun (that's what I did on mine) and then discovered the lower bolts for the fans were rusted on. so I disconnected everything to pull the radiator, and discovered that won't come out without removing the fans. that was the point where I told the car to go **** itself and went home.

in hindsight, I probably should have bought their tools (the cam one and the seal installers) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Looks like i'm trading my 3.9 torsen for a 4.3 torsen.

Time for that 6spd/4.3 combo swag.
