FYI if you have a mazdaspeed you dont need the ECU for speedometer. I dont use it at all.

The speedo is done by ABS sensors. You need at least a good front and rear sensor for the speedo to work.

Good info. I've heard a lot of conflicting speculation about this. I was under the impression personally that it needed just one of the two fronts. I wasn't sure, so I didn't say anything.

Cool. Thanks for the help. Well I just got my side motor mounts and realized I don't have any of the brackets or bolts that I thought I did... I've been searching and the only place I can find any of the brackets is at a dealer or wholesaler and they're pretty expensive. Do I have any other options when it comes to bolts, dampers, brackets etc. or am I going to have to get them from the dealer? I believe just the brackets and dampers I need would be about $220 or so. Also didn't know the diameter of bolts and nuts and what strenght I would need to get if I just went to like lowes or home depot or somethin. Ill pay the $220 but only if I know there're no other options since I just payed like $220 for the mounts themselves and I still gotta get some rims tires as well. If anyone knows what's up lmk. I appreciate the help

Go to the junk yard, find an mx3. My side mounts were hybrid protege/mx3, and the other two I think were Protege mounts. You'll need shorter studs on the passenger side of the block iirc.

Okay, thanks. I do already have the mounts themselves I just need the brackets. Would the protege mounts fit into probe brackets or mx-6/mx-3 brackets or something?

I think I've seen mx6 ones used, not hard to try.

Do millenia and 626's have the same mounts as an mx 6? and would the probe mounts/ brackets connect to the frame?

Millennia, no, at least the 2.3 has a different block mount for sure. 626 is the same as mx6 and Probe, and I think bolt up, but might need to be modified. You can use the stock Protege mount bracket that bolts to the frame. The KL mount slides right in.

Milli 2.5's are also different than the mx6/626 style mount.

Okay, so I picked up some probe mounts and brackets and a 626 bracket for the passenger side but the transmission side mount does not bolt onto the frame!! I'm wondering if the protege bracket will even bolt onto the transmission. The probe I got the parts from was a 96 and neither the bracket nor the mount works so now I'm not really sure what to do. Should I buy the protege bracket that attaches to the transmission? Or will that not fit? I will post pictures soon.

I can take a picture of my transmission bracket for you tomorrow. It no longer has a KL in it, but it has the transmission I used with the KL. I can't remember what mount I used, I think it might just be the stock Protege mount though.
