No idea, to be completely honest. I've always been told or read that BG springs won't work for a BH, though. And I don't know the specs for them, the certificate is all in Japanese.

Alright, I have some disposable income now so it's time to get back in the game with this thing. I still want to do the KLG4/MT swap. I've got the transmission (Kia G-series, 5th gear swap, MFactory diff) as well as the ES brake upgrade parts. I'm currently looking for the engine and there's a few available from out of state (no yards near me have one) for $700 and up.

The plan is to keep it naturally aspirated, and a rebuild will be necessary anyway. Not sure how to go about the rebuild, so I was hoping I could get some help here. Also, some general tips for the I4 to V6 swap, most importantly the mounts.

If I think of anything else I'll need help with, I'll let you guys know. Time to go shopping.

Ambitious, I like it! I'm not sure anyone has swapped that motor into the BHA here in the states.

The Kia g series is a BP transmission.

If you have to pass emissions that kinda limits the rebuild options, and I am guessing that since some BH did come with a BP that it's likely swapping a KL won't be much different than swapping it into a BG, so I would just follow that formula for now till something unexpected comes up.

Have fun with your V6 swap on a obd-2 chassis.

Seriously though you're going on an undertaking you're not likely so succeed on.
And if you're dead set on it you should really just get an entire front clip/running parts car if you want any sort of ease of install of a new engine.
Don't bother rebuilding the engine first pass on install as well. It'll let you realize fun things like possible oil starvation issues due to engine angle with minimal financial loss.

Just do the mtx swap and drive the car until you out grow it, rust kills it ,or you find and ES BP engine harness.

Using Linux for anything serious besides server or software dev is like using a tin can and a string for telecommunications.

Thank you. I'm always on the lookout for ways to set myself apart from the crowd.

I figured as much. I've read through a couple builds a while ago, so I'll have to go back and take notes.

The swap has been done in BJ chassis cars, so OBDII doesn't seem like much of a problem. As for emissions, it failed when I first brought it up here and barely passed the second time. This year I brought it to a guy a coworker told me about and he passes any car as long as there's no codes showing up in the computer. I'll be going to him if I ever do get this project done.

With all that said, I will be doing more research before diving in. Oh, and I'll need a V6 bellhousing, I believe.

I would try to sell the Kia G-series and then get a KL G-series from someone parting a car out or from a U-pull yard. At least this way you could break even and it would be far more likely than to find someone willing to split up a transmission for you. Technically if you mix cases, you really need to check bearing clearances and as I found out its a hassle getting all tools collected to do it.

Got the car out of it's winter hiding place. Almost everything seems to be okay, but it looks like the passenger side transmission axle seal is leaking and it's low on fluid. I had the car up on Rhino Ramps (hoping to get the exhaust off, didn't happen) and it was leaking like crazy. Got it off the ramps and the leaking almost stopped. Maybe it's just been sitting too long without moving?

trust me. put a new seal in it. if it leaks sitting in any fashion its SOL for the long run.
