Now that fun above ^^ was dealt with the Car, Myself and Adam headed up to run in the 2014 Thunderbird TSD Rally in Meritt BC.

The car ran beautifully the whole run up and for the two days for the Rally Stages... a total of approx. 1250kms in distance traveled

Once we got up to Merritt... its was cold ..cold. Lows of -15 celcius .. the car didnt like starting the next morning .. just fired up.
all the plastic switches in the car felt brittle, didnt want to touch them in fear of breaking **** off. Had to run it for quite awhile to get heat in the engine and the car in general.

Car ran like a champ.. no issues until I tried to Kill it along with Adam and myself inside..

During the first night stage trying to keep up the speed and maintain our time... came into a left corner with a slight downhill.

Braked way to late , carrying to much speed, froze up and put it through a snow bank and over the edge... almost rolling it down the remainder of the slope we came to rest on .

Dammit, you're making me wanna run the Alcan...
'90 AWD Protege, full GTR drivetrain swap, ~320 whp daily driver, RIP, and
'90 AWD Protege, yet another GTR swap, Open class rallycar with a Toyota GT4 gearbox swap, thus crossing the line between hobby and mental illness. And a Brabus E55 K8, removing all doubt.

Wow that looks like a great adventure! No problems after your experience in the ditch?
I wish we had a rally like that here in my region.
But we dont have much snow........or any nice scenery...
I've got the same original 14" mazda wheels on my 1.6 b6 ;-)

They were optional accesorie at the time. And they come with a set of 5 wheels.

It just keeps plugging along with no hicups, just basic maintenance and never lets me down.

But I have always have had plans for all my extra parts that have been collecting from the other spares off my
                  other projects.

I have always hated the ****ty OEM Mazda Disc/ Drum Brakes !!

So its now going to be in full swing soon to do a full disc brake upgrade swap from a Escort GT I was
able to score everything from. The poor Escort GT only had 64,000kms and minor damage to the front bumper and
ended up in the Auto Wreckers. Forgot to mention it was that ugly ford pink, so I guess no one wanted to have it, either way
the thing was super clean inside and out.

Addition to the brakes I have all the Knuckes/spindles from the Escort GT, which are getting the restoration treatment.

I have a freshly powder coated Canadain BG Protege GT front sway bar and all my Super Poly bushing rear arms from my first install on my Auto-x Car.

New Parts to complete the install will be Goodridge S.Steel Braided Brake lines and new Master cylinder, Ball Joints and Tie Rod ends.

I also found a great deal this winter for new Wheels and basically brand new snow tires. They give the Car a much more Rally Stance/look.

                    Progress report!

Well the front end has come completely apart and the bigger disc set up and GT sway is in .. But forgot to take any pictures lol

So it's is now on to the rear. Out with the old and in with the new !

New master cylinder is in, new proportional valve for a four wheel disc brake set up in is installed.

Oh and all new s.steel braided good ridge brake hoses.

I have ripped out all of the rear drum brakes, rear subframe and e-brake cables.

On to the reassembly of the newly powder coated subframe, painted rear spindle assembles and calipers.

Hoping to have it all buttoned up by the end of the week... Then off to get a fresh alignment.

I actually got them directly from rally armour .. They are the most basic model the sell.
They don't have any bolt holes , so you have to modify them yourself.
