So...A long overdue update as is typical for me.

The ITA car is in my garage and currently being worked on. I'm in the process of swapping over the rear subframe, suspension and fuel system from my autocross car. The subframe and suspension links are ready to go in, but I'm waiting on a few things for the fuel system to make the install a little cleaner than what I had on the autoX car.

I'll eventually be looking at doing spherical bearings in the rear suspension links, but the cost is prohibitive with all the other things going on with the car.

If anyone has any rear black, non-powered, BG Protege door cards laying around I may be interested.

I'll get some pictures up later, but the car is really rough right now. I also just got back from the spine doctor and he wants me to take it easy for a little while. Doubt that is going to happen.

Well, another long overdue update. The car finally made it to a race weekend, but not without a few teething issues I hadn't spotted. At the driver's school earlier in the year I had a bad vibration when turning left. We thought it was an axle that was too long so when I got home I swapped in the good motor and driveline from my autocross car. I went to Virginia International Raceway for my first real racing last weekend. The vibration was still there, but it seemed to get a little better as the weekend went on. I had a practice day on Friday and the car ran flawlessly, although it used a quart of oil...most of which was in the catch can. I discovered a loose gland nut on the left rear strut that was causing the car to handle a little funny and got that fixed Friday night. Saturday and Sunday had a short sprint race on each day with qualifying in the morning. I ended up qualifying 4th for the sprint race on Saturday, but my throttle pedal stuck wide open on the second lap going down the front straight. It put me at the back of the pack, but I managed to get back to 5th place. Here is the video from that race.

I didn't have the camera for Sunday's race, but I qualified 2nd and finished 2nd. It was a much more boring race, but I was able to run my fastest lap of the weekend at a 2:20.9. That was on used Hoosier R7s on the front and really used Hoosier SM6s on the rear. This car is going to be a blast on new tires. The motor is strong and it's still running on the stock ECU. After looking over the car, I think the vibration might be the front swaybar contacting the front subframe.

I have rear black non-powered door cards.

Also, as amazing as the BG chassis is, It's hilarious that you are competing with compact cars 3/4 the size and with 3x the handling in a stock sorting. A good CRX is basically the king of production racing/touring class (as well as ITR tegs if you are willing to shell out the cash and risk).

And if you are looking for better power and not looking for major modifications while keeping the bay looking stock, you need to upgrade your VAF to a better code (B codes from Rx7s are a dime a dozen).

Sorry for the late reply. I found in the rules that I don't need the door cards...just some sheet aluminum to cover the bare doors. I have to keep the stock VAF in the intake per the rules, but with the Megasquirt install I'll most likely be running the car off a MAP sensor. Currently the car is getting painted. It's taking a lot longer than expected, but I hope to have the car back out at VIR in March.

You can actually weld in a bar that protrudes into the door and that will allow you too gut the whole door.

Do you have any interest in a set of solid front lca bushings I have a friend that can make them I was thinking about having a set mocked up for my car.

Sorry, but I highly doubt that they check and verify what letter code corresponds to the chassis on the AFM.

And Don't worry about the door panels, they are already gone lol.

There are no door bars for the rear doors. I suppose I could make some, but it's already a pain to access anything through the rear doors with the cage as is. For the amount of work involved I doubt it saves any weight.

I've got Delrin front bushings in right now and a set of sphericals sitting on the shelf getting ready to go in. What I really need is a full set of sphericals for the rear suspension.

They won't be spherical they would be an aluminum bushing with a bronze oil insert

The rears will have to be spherical or they will bind. All the rear pieces move in multiple axis.

Do you have to retain the original stamped steel lateral links? I'm guessing yes, but if not, you could run these:

                            Escort GTR -- 11.87 @ 117.6 mph -- 320 HP / 325 Ft. Lbs. @ 23 PSI

Yea I don't think we are allowed to change the arms themselves just the bushings. Maybe I will use my spare set with the poly bushings I made.
