Mazdaspeed protege. Rebuild or part out?

So I have a 2003 mazdaspeed protege with 110k miles all original. Failure to add oil resulted in a knocking motor that I had to drive on for 3 miles to get home. I parked it and haven't driven it since. The vehicle still starts and idles but I haven't tore the motor down yet. I have finances tied in other areas so rebuilding an extravagant motor isn't an option. I love my msp but What to do? Sell or rebuild? I need all your great and educated suggestions thanks guys

Put another motor in it. Or rebuild the one you got if you have space to let it sit

Wait until some funds become available then just buy a stripped Protege5 engine or lower half and swap around the msp turbo parts from the msp engine to it. After you've done the swap then its time to install. That's the most cost effective way to sort you r damage msp since you're strapped for cash @ the moment.
