Vacuum solenoids. I'm pretty sure the one on the firewall is for EVAP canister purge, and the other one is for FPR control.1990 Protege 4WD

What engine/chassis/trim is this with the solenoid mounted like that on the engine?
Also don't disconnect the firewall ones wiring even though it doesn't have vac going to it, it made my hot idle worse when I did.Beater=/= Sleeper

Also get a fancy negative battery terminal, your current one looks pretty bad.
