Well, If I could have imported yours, I might of been interested then going the long way. On the other hand, this way I can build the GTX that I want, how I want it.
What are you selling yours for? Pics??? Haven't seen you post anything on facebook...Mazda

So, Before I left for Engineer school earlier this month, I got the car towed over to the GF's place and started the tear down. Was fortunate to squeeze it in with her sisters excess kids toys in the back.
And the turbo all toasty and stuff... Was odd how it went out, the compressor side grenade, snapping the turbine shaft, but the turbine side was fine, aside from the oil spewing through the seals...
I got the intercooler plumbing loose and made the mistake of dropping the charge pipe off the turbo. I spilled about 2 quarts of oil on the ground out of the intercooler plumbing and the intercooler. Im hoping I didn't poor too much oil through the engine, and wash the cylinders...
So I made a wee little order of parts. When I got home from Salt Lake City, this is what I found...
And the funzzy parts I got. Christmas in March! I Spy...
And the turbo side by side. Garrett GT2854R in a VJ20 hotside.

Slow going, But Ive finally gotten the turbo clocked the right way to clear radiator hose, and fit the charge pipe correctly, as well as drilled the cold side for the wastegate bracket in the only position it barely fits in. Also got the -4 AN fitting for the oil, and trying to get the oil drain put together. Finally will be getting it all together nice and quick hopefully and back on the road.Mazda

Heres a few update pics. Kind of behind due to work (railroad doesn't sleep...). I'm hoping to focus some more time on it this week and hopefully bolt everything up for the last time. Without further a due...

I haven't started GT-Four conversion yet because it's too intimidating. I am committed to it though, so it will happen. Eventually.1990 Protege 4WD
