Would JDM BPT be a direct fit into USDM 323

Would a JDM BP Turbo GTR motor with stock ECU and harness be a direct fit into a USDM 1993 Mazda 323? Would the harness be plug-and-play? Or would I need to modify the harness? How difficult would the modifications be if it needed to be done?

    Thanks

In short, no, it's not just plug-n-play.

There's plenty of information about these swaps a short search away.

My searches all showed GTX diagrams and info. are the GTX and GTR harness similar?

Not to be rude or anything, but the questions you're asking indicate you should not try an engine swap. At least not yet. Use the search button . Do some more research. Corksport did mine and it took them months. Everyone seems to think it's just unbolt old engine bolt in new, but it ain't. You're worried about wiring harness? That's like step 452 and you aren't at step 1 yet.

I'd almost pay money to do a swap as easy as a fwd no halfshaft hell no awd hassle no adapterpkate just some plumbing exhaust ic locate issues. Just to get away from the wall I've been banging ny head against as of late. I think in this case, there may be some clutch/flywheel interface issues but am not certain. If there are, it's just some mix-n-match oarts. so to the OP, if you have a line on a GTR engjne and ecu (or standalone), grab it. It will go in there, just go in with eyes open. Enjoy the torquesteer!

                Thanks all for the info.

Jay I'm confused. The swap would be eaiser if the GTR motor was paired with a FWD transmission?

If you have a us spec '93 323, then I assume it's FWD. Dunno for sure, you're in Cananda so maybe it's a GTX but figured you'd prolly mention that if it was. Putting a BG 1.8 engine in a BF (1988) GTX is a kinda of a beeyotch due to conflicting halfshafts and mounts and several other fun issues, but it is doable. Much easier would be what it sounds like you're proposing, since your car presumably has a BG trans and the bolt pattern should match and engine mounts and all else, such that all you have to do is figure out intercooler and harness. OTOH, if you're talking about putting the BG awd trans in along with this gtr motor, and trying to convert your FWD car into AWD, well, um, good luck.
So, lots of variable here since I don't really know what you've got and what you're planning!

Oh... Thanks Jay for clearing that up. The car is FWD and I do have a custom FMIC setup already. Nice to know that the harness is the majority of the work.

What did corksport charge you to do your harness? If you don't mind me asking.

N/A... we had a hodgepodge of ecu and HK$ FCON.
