1988 GTX Restoration - Going To Be Fun!

I bought this car in July from a well known member / enthusiast and all around good guy [Craig. H]. Craig owned the car for over a decade and he upgraded the car with some great improvements including a rebuilt motor, Galant front brakes, Escort GT Glass sunroof and coilovers plus a GTAe front bumper.

When I purchased the car it was not road ready or legal and it was not particularly attractive as it was partially stripped for paint. I then saved some $$, completely stripped it and now is at the body shop getting ready for paint.

    On To The Pics:

July 2014 as it arrived at my front door:

When the car arrived, I pushed it into my garage where it stayed for 6 months.

Until last week when I stripped it and off to the body shop, next to my GT (which I have owned going on 11 years).

At the body shop, the car had lots of door dings, so getting the panels straight and prepping the metal. The little Mazda is in company with some very cool cars!. The car will be painted a metallic silver including all the door jambs and under the hood, so a full color change:

Thanks guys. The large garage is actually the body shop where the car is being painted.

Well as of today, all the body work is complete (pictures below). Friday coming, the car will be primered and at least will be in one color (laughing) even though boring primer grey, so looking forward to that.

                    Cheers!

Damn slownrusty..... nice job. Is the building you are doing the work in your shop? If it is, I'm jealous!!!!! LOL.

I wish I had a shop to put all my toys in and to do work. Maybe someday.

Keep posting pics! I'm enjoying seeing the progress.
