      Strut Tower Rot Through

Well, after years of Canadian winter, it has finally taken it's toll on my 323.

      The rust is incredible.

So I just patched it for now, I mean it's the middle of winter and to work on this car at my shop is a hit and miss.

Don't make fun of the welds. I know they look like crap, however our shop welder is like 20 years old and it has a problem with the feed. Sometimes you hold the trigger for 15 seconds and it won't move at all. I've actually done 4 years of welding in school, but if the equipment isn't working properly....whatta you gonna do?

Come summer I'm gonna weld it up completely and slap on some seam seal or urethane or something and then rubber coat the wheel well but for now I just sprayed some rust inhibitor

        New GTAe front bumper

I bought this bumper from Piotr and it didn't come cheap. My brother fixed it up for me before I put it on the car.

In hindsight I should of taken before and after pics, because it was pretty beat up. In fact the rebar was so mangled I was going to throw it out. Thank god I didn't because the bumper doesn't fit on my stock one.

Now I just need a set of fogs or something to stick on either side in the lower grill holes. Hmmm......maybe a lip as well?

Hard to tell from the pic but is that a GTAe bumper?

Thanks. I'll be putting in those H&Rs you sold me soon. But first it needs a starter.

                        New Shift Knob

So I had this idea about 6 months ago but I didn't know how to exactly go about it.
So...during this process I almost started two fires in my car and electrocuted myself once. Took a little bit of playing around with but I finally got it working. I'll shut up now and just show you what I've done.

I removed the cigarette lighter and installed this heavy duty toggle switch (rated for 50 amps).

                        My new shift knob!

I bought the orb online, I actually bought 2 (one for testing, one for the actual knob). I custom made the base out of nylon. It is pretty snazzy, especially at night.

                        Dangerous?...Yes. Impractical?...Highly. Cool?...You tell me

Wow. Haven't posted anything in a while.

                            Update:

Gutted the whole car. I actually re-did the strut towers at the back. Took a whole weekend but got it done. Installed new rear struts with H&R lowering springs and new strut mounts and rear trailing arms.

I have to take care of some leaks. Not exactly sure where water is getting in but I suspect the taillights and there is somewhere else in the hatch area. In the front, the rubber where the front windows are leaks into the door.

Also my Rad just blew up so I bought a half rad, and now some custom bracket fabbing to get it back up and running.

                            Pics to come
