    Steering Wheel Removal

I'm standing in a junk yard trying to remove the stock steering wheel from a 93 protege DX. I've removed the nylock nut from the center shaft. I've removed the two gold screws next to the center shaft. The wheel won't budge. What else is holding this on?

Hit the steering wheel on front side going side to side! It should loosen it if you don't have a steering wheel puller

put the center nut back on loose, sit in the drivers seat and grab the wheel at 3 and 9 o'clock and violently push/pull on the wheel. It's important the center nut is on loosely, otherwise if it's not on you could smack yourself in the face with the steering wheel when it comes off.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Had quite an audience watching an idiot try to rip a steering wheel out of a car. No seats are in the car. Car is sitting propped up on steel wheels (it's how this pick and pull operates) so I was worried about bringing the car down. Might get a puller later.

Did you get the wheel after all that?

No sir, dead squid isn't worth getting a puller.
