    protege questions! advice please!

    Hi everyone,

I have recently just joined clubprotege after buying my first car a 2000 Mazda 323 protege.

i am actually having to purchace a ute for work as i am a painter and decorator, so my girl is going into a garage to be worked on.

what did you guys do to your mazdas to get a bit more power? Im rocking the standard 1.6ltr engine

any advice on what i should do like engine swaps of turbo charging? Any advice is much appreciated as i havent found to much information on this car

I love my mazda and i would absolutely love to work on this car with my dad or get people to do it. I just want to have her fast and keep her forever hahahah thanks everyone

There really isn't anything that can be done to produce appreciable power gain in the normally aspirated 1.6 L engine. Turbocharging is the only way to go.

search for threads by TheMAN as i believe he has fitted the factory turbo and accessories found in the US-spec Mazdaspeed Protege to his 2.0L

if you are new to the 323/Familia/Protege world check out the Protegefaq.net

your best bang-for-buck are suspension upgrades. and lucky you, Whiteline, SuperPro, and Pedders are all Aussie outfits with suspension bits to offer the 323/Protege/Familia
