    Swaybar Bushing Dilemma

99 escort wagon. Front swaybar body mount bushing, drivers side, is 100% deteriorated/missing. The swaybar clunks up and down constantly… very annoying.

The 3g escort uses a two-bolt bracket for this bushing instead of a bolt + tab setup like the earlier BG’s. The rear bolt is seemingly inaccessible with the K-frame installed… but due to rust issues (don’t want to open a can of worms, very worried about spinning captive nuts etc.) I would like to avoid trying to remove the K-frame.

Looking for suggestions as to how in the hell I might be able to replace this bushing.

lower the subframe a hair if need be... grab a swivel socket & a long extension & go to town. air impact will be more effective at getting it out then hand tools. heat it prior if your really concerned.
