    Mazdaspeed Intake check engine code

My car threw a P2006 code for an intake manifold control valve. Anyone do this repair?

The intake manifold control valves are the solenoids mounted on the top of the inake manifold at the back of the engine bay. They are located in the center of the intake manifold side by side and sit on a brass mount. There should be a green connector and a white connector plugged into the two valves and vacuum lines running to each of them from the back of the manifold. One is for VTCS and you will see the vacuum line goes to the right side of the manifold near the cylinder head. The other is for VICS and the vacuum line runs to the back of the manifold (also on the right side). Because you have a check engine light it is likely that your VTCS solenoid is failing or has failed. swap the solenoids and the light should go away this will cause you to loose VICS but the engine light will leave. I would rec that if you swap the two and the light goes away to replace both as the second solenoid will likely fail soon enough as well.
