So I bought a running 2001Kia Sportage 2wd 5spd. I'm confused as to what fwd trans will bolt up, some say the Kia FE3 needs a F2T crank? This engine is going into a old Nissan Sentra so the tranny mounts dont really matter, but the trans it self needs to be strong for boost. Was also thinking about a E153 trans.

Thats awesome to hear. I keep reading something about the Kia 8 blot flywheel cant use the g clutch and thus needs a f2t crank and fw, guess thats now the case with the H trans tho.

Yes the Kia uses a different flywheel. Idk anything about the clutch issue but if the only difference is how many bolts holds on the flywheel, and the rest of its the same I don't see why an H or G clutch couldn't be used. please use the standard F2 (non turbo) transmission- or any FS transmission(3rd gen BJ/626/probe)

Let me rephrase. Try not to mention the F2T/ H transmission unless you are purposefully trying to shy people away from doing a FE3 swap-
I learned this the hard way, and unfortunately my swap thread has confused the majority of people away from doing the swap.

a G series with a LSD wont' blow up. unless you drive like an asshole/shift like one.
shortly there is no compatible flywheel for the kia engine that will work with a H series transmission (unless you go custom bare minimum $350+)

I just know from the turbo ZX2 guys, once you around 300whp the case starts flixing and stripping 3rd gear, and I plan/hope for about that amount. And yeah FE3 is better than SR20 anyday, reason the SR is so popular is because of the 240sx and drift scene, the SR is a easy turbo swap for them. Besides, the SR dont swap into the B12 sentras easy at all.
I thought about just making a sleeper out of the KIa, but god its ugly. That and this litle Sentra is dear to my heart. Its switched hands alot and has actully became somewhat of a legend in my local car scene lol. I DID have the thought of putting the Sentra body on the Kia's frame, and I'm just crazy enough to try..
