Tuning A-Code VAMF for Better Fuel Economy

Since I've replaced a B code with an A code my fuel consumption has dropped from 25mpg to 11-14mpg. My wideband shows full rich 10.0 at idle, full rich driving around at less than 25% throttle, a little lean under WOT and full boost (15.8-16.3), and full lean when I liftoff the throttle after WOT (19.9).

I had some time and tried opening the VAF and turning the wheel clockwise (leaner) 3 'clicks' but it made no difference. I haven't used a multimeter to check voltage, since I have a wideband I figure I can just drive around after changing something and see if it made a difference.

Does anyone else get mileage this bad? Has anyone had any success getting better fuel consumption? If I keep turning the wheel on the VAF towards lean I should be able to get stoich at idle, correct? The VAF how-to guides I found focus on getting it to idle and run properly. Mine idles and runs fine but sucks fuel like a motor three times its size.

Stock BP05 motor with VJ20, GTX ECU, 360cc injectors, 255lph fuel pump.

Maybe. It's a remanned carquest part, listed on ebay "fits 86-88 rx7 turbo", there is no Denso sticker with an "A" on it. I turned it 10 more clicks clockwise and it runs exactly the same. Runs at stoich immediately upon startup and gradually drops to 10.0 AFR within 30 seconds of idling.

The Turbo II afm will run pig rich, if thats what you are using.

The infamous safc will help up to a point.
