Gear Assembly Swaps

has anybody attempted on swapping gear assembly on BG?
i'm actually looking for gear ratios that is more towards fuel efficiency eg. 110km/h at 2500rpm

Here in the US the easiest source is from any 5 speed 97+ ford escort with the 2.0 SOHC engine.

The tallest gearing combo you can get is to actually use the full gearset from that transmission, but to do so you need a Kia or BH/BJ mazda G-series. The complete gearset won't fit in a BG g-series.

anyway, it came to my attention that my mechanic have a V6 3.0 Mazda idle in his garage
apparently the owner want to swap the engine with RB26.

so, i was wondering if I can use the gear assembly from the V6 into my gearbox
my gearbox is a hybrid of FE 12v with bell housing from a 1.8 Lantis

is this kind of swap possible? the V6 gearbox is auto

The auto stuff is a lot different then the standard stuff.. it doesn't interchange like the 5 speed stuff

There is a 0.680 in some diesel G series boxes.

**** trying to source that though.
