Paint it all black in the bay and you wont have to worry about matching

I have some mounts I plan on using but am unsure about whether or not I can make it work.. 89 323 Sedan - 97 KLDE I have the passenger motor mount bracket from a MX3 GS - MX3 GS trans crossmember and the OEM Probe mounts. What will work? Axles? I am trying to get the car Sunday and the owner switched from auto to manual - I HOPE HE SWAPPED TO HYDRO....otherwise your the guy to make an adaptor? TIA!

My contribution to this. If you want to, this is how you delete the power steering without gutting the pump. I learned this from ChillinZX who has it in his ZX2 swapped KL. Curious I will share how it was taught to me?

azgtx - I strongly considered spraying it black, but thought I'd try the blue first lol

bonylad - the stock 323 rear transmission mount is a direct fit to the KL transmission

The front mount almost lines up, the rear stud on the mount matches up with the front mount hole on the crossmember, so simply drilling another hole will allow the front mount to drop right in

The passenger mount bracket will need some custom work

If you're using a KLDE intake, the throttle body will interfere with the master cylinder.... Best fix will be to find a millenia curve neck intake and everything with fit beautifully

I'm hoping to keep the G4 intake by modifying my motor mounts so the throttle body clears my MC..... My reasons for this is because I don't want to spend the money on a millenia intake if I don't have too and if I locate the engine more forward, it'll actually help with the weight balance of the car, slightly improving traction

As for the hydraulic conversion brackets I made on the festiva, that was a piece of ****, the pedal was ridiculously stiff and I kept breaking clutch cables, you are MUCH better off converting to hydraulic which on the BF 323 is incredibly easy

And lastly for the power steering delete, that's the GM idler pulley modification correct?

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

Actually I'm not sure what it's called but You reuse the bracket with the pump removed. Then you use the following. Power steering delete. Klde. Dayco 89520 pulley and belt 4k300 Take the pulley and flip it around. You will have to machine the nut to fit the race of the pulley. Find a matching washer to space it out and it lines up perfect. Text me 252 342 3562. I have a couple questions and maybe I can elaborate. If not care to link me to where I can get info needed to convert to hydro? Thanks Chris!

I couldn't live with the baby blue, I had to darken it up with some navy blue instead

Also freshened up the engine and got the harness attached so I can start sorting through the harness to get it prepped for splicing into the wagon

So I've ran into two issues

1: no spark or fuel, there's power where it's needed but won't fire up, I'm putting it down to the donor car was equipped with the immobilizer and since I did not keep any of the matching components, I'm on the look out for another ECU

2: the engine won't crank over by the key, something I've changed has stopped it from sending the starter trigger wire power.... Ugh

Check your grounds. I had a similar issue during the wagon build. It was the ground strap the whole time.

Run a push button and relay to the starter. Those old BF key switches go to s hit anyway.

This thought crossed my mind on my way home from work tonight.... I'm going to make the attempt to have it crank with the key first though

The no fuel and spark part sound like a ground. If you pull the fuel injection fuse under the hood it'll shut off both injectors and ignition as a fail safe .Its so you dont flood the cylinders with fuel if the ignition fails. Im not sure how the wiring is on a KL but if it is anything like the BP there should be a ground for the injector harness that goes to the head. I don't have very much v6 experience though. I'm just spit balling right now.
