            mind..almost...blown....

Strongly thinking along this line for my AWD protege/E153. I was always thinking along the lines of 320-ish awhp, but if I can get higher and still be safe/reliable.... hot damn!

I was going to use my old-ass Haltech E6K (Braden's from Barely Legal Transplants way back in the day) to run things in the end, but use the stock GTX ecu with A-code VAF, etc. etc, but this could be the VERY hot ticket... I'm kinda pumped now, and want to leave work and go start wrenching!

E6Ks belong in the trash these days, especially given how well this Evo setup works (and how inexpensive it is)

(I don't miss my Haltech at all haha)

Anyone on here done this yet? I know there's several other parts required for full functionality that he has mentioned... Speedo, cas, etc
It'd be nice if there was a grocery list for the lazy and uneducated.

yeah, I missed out on all the fun it could've given me in the past, just too many projects in the fire. Too bad he's getting rid of the Escort and moving towards RWD, I wanted to trade him my un-mounted, un-painted ERDT EVO3 bumper towards one of his setups. I should take some pics and make a sale post, and start cleaning out stuff that I'll never use!

can probably cheat on the CAS and use a modified disty

Blazin674 is getting one of these setups for the GTR wagon, I'll try to get him to post up what's needed when he gets it sorted. I guess the dude running their Facebook page is really good about responding to questions quickly if you want to give him a shout.

Yeah someone would for sure snag that stuff, and you can just put it towards an Evo setup- that's what I'd do

As far as i recall from setting up my megasquirt, the DSM and Miata CAS is electrically identical, so you probably need one from a miata. Not too hard to find.

didn't somebody on here use the guts of a disty to work with COPs and a Megasquirt? mx-3_4evr maybe?

I believe there is a way to run COPS on MS with the 4/1 distributor guts, however i doubt you could get the Mitsubishi computer to work with that signal. The 4G63/Miata is a 4/2.

My question is why would you go through all the work when a Miata CAS is so easy to install with the MS.

I never did find a Miata CAS that anyone wanted to get rid of. They were always kept for spares or for upgrading other BP's. didn't want to buy a brand new one at the time, plus had a lot less money then.
