Trubendz escort exhaust

I'm trying to figure out which trubendz kit to get for my 93 Protege. They have a 91-96 escort kit and a 98-03 zx2 kit. Everything I've found says the zx2 kit works... But it comes with the muffler (that I don't need). I haven't seen anyone mention the 91-96 escort kit. How does the 91-96 escort exhaust compare to the Protege? Or do I need the zx2 and do something with the muffler?

I wondered because their applications lists them all
1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996 - 1.8L/1.9L - Base, LX, GT, Sport - 2/3/4/5 Door - Hatch/Sedan/Wagon

I'm sure you could make it work on a 1.9 because that seems almost like a universal kit, it sure as **** isn't gonna bolt on though.

it's been a while since I even looked at a 1.9/2.0 exhaust but I *think* that the front pipe ends about where the cat is on a 1.8, so you could probably use an exhaust meant for an EGT/PLX if you used a test pipe or something.

Just get the piping kit for either one, add your own muffler or straight pipe

For posterity... The 91-96 escort kit lines up pretty well. Headed to my friend's house to weld it up

Also...
The trubendz bend where the muffler goes matches the bend in the OEM gtx downpipe. Didn't realize it until we cut it off for the muffler. The 'downpipe' piece that comes with it isn't bad either.
