    Boiling coolant tank

I just put a thermostat in my car and found out there wasn't one in it since I got it. I ran it for a while after and the coolant tank and rad started boiling and steaming. Temp gauge works and isn't reading hot, fan works too. I'm thinkin maybe head gasket but idk. Tia

Replace the radiator cap, flush the cooling system (with a chemical flush), and replace the coolant with the correct 50/50 ratio. It may be the headgasket, but the B6s are pretty stout in that regard. If that doesn't work, you may need to have the cooling system pressure tested and any leak repaired. That would also expose that possible headgasket issue.

If you can't remember when the radiator cap was last replaced, I would start there.
