The high pressure switch would normally be closed until it reaches a target pressure then it would open cutting power to the compressor. Same thing with the low pressure switch, It will open once the pressure gets too low.

High pressure switch is on the High side and Low on low side.

The compressor looks considerably cleaner/newer than everything around it. No pooled oil in the intercoolers, or so it seems. The rotors look like wood, as everyone always describes it. It is, of course, a film of (rather clean) oil on the Teflon coated surfaces. I'll be pulling it to clean it up and inspect the atmospheric seal chambers and not much more. I'm reluctant to do any work on it until I have rebuilt the engine on the second go-around (I want to have it tuned first so the break-in period isn't too rich or lean).

Seems simple enough. Wire it inline so either switch interrupts the circuit to the relay. Do you think it's still worth looking into running the ECU in parallel for A/C, considering that the cruise control has a couple inputs to the ECU, also? Both the p5 and Milly actuators work the same way and theoretically I can use the Milly actuator which I'd much prefer given the throttle cable is on series and not parallel like the P5 is. Makes my job with throttle cable much easier.

Gonna be working on alternator and accessories tonight. Fortunately, the alternator is internally regulated (not that MS3x can't run regulator functions). Bought some nice loom and many rolls of super88 yesterday. Clipped all of the pigtails as well since the rest of harness was looking pretty crispy. Not wanting to risk using damaged/cracked jackets for the install.

Probably gonna cut the dashboard or carpet up and use wiring from inside the cabin of the Milly since it's likely to be in much better shape. Also, I think there are enough separate conductors on the factory connectors for the transmission harness to use for the entire install. I'll be sure to detail it and show my pinouts. All apart of the wiring conversion diagrams. Which I verified all of except the VR/crank sensor last night. I need to JimStim my MS3 and temporarily hook up the CKP while cranking to determine which side is AC current shielded in the factory install.

My opinion is no you don't need to do that. I will post a screenshot of the wiring diagram for a BP escort to give you an idea of how simple it can all be wired up in a little while..

Good progress today. My suspicions regarding the axles were correct - They may be a different size, but the outer race of the carrier bearing is the same. This means the intermediate shaft from the FS 2.0 (N/A 28 spline) will work with the bracket from the KJ.

I did part of the assembly today and will be ordering new seals, guards, and bearing tomorrow from Mazda. No sense in doing all of this work on an old bearing.

                  Timken's 6206, yes.

I'll probably just end up using a Mazda OE since I already have to order the seals and I have a commercial account.

I appreciate the offer. After shipping and everything, it would have probably been more than at Mazda. Plus, parts already arrived

Progress yesterday was a little less "concrete" and more about wiring. I /should/ have every single wiring change necessary documented and ready to transcribe into something easier to follow than my note system which consists of me jotting down tidbits about specific systems in eleventy-twelve different places. I did get the bay stripped down and almost ready for test fitting of the engine/mount testing. Wiring harness has the loom and all electrical tape removed. Everything has been labeled and is ready for trimming. Once I get a better idea of where the engine will sit with accessories, I'm going to finalize the wiring in the bay to the engine harness connectors I've designated and wire in the megasquirt to the chassis. I can't progress with setting up the engine side of the harness until I have the engine reassembled and can route everything properly.

The progress has been set back on the engine a bit, too. Gotta order all three timing covers new as the ones on my donor swelled up and were ground down by the pulleys...There goes about $315 unless the junkyard S has decent covers (I'll check it out this weekend). Not particularly keen on practically pulling the engine to get covers though. I may bring a sawzall and take the passenger corner off

After some probing today on the front of the engine (pulley side), I noticed the bearing is bad on one of the tensioners. Gonna go ahead and replace both. SKF: 6203-2RSJ - SKF Bearing Guide

I can't make much more progress on the engine, however, until I get an accessory pulley-puller. The pulley is seized onto the crank nose and will require pulling.

I do not recommend using SKF bearings. the quality of them is just plain ****. use NTN/Timken/Nachi

I would really prefer a Mazda OE but my parts guy says Mazda can only get me an entire tensioner at...some unbelievable price. I usually use National where OE isn't feasible. Suppose I could cross reference the part number. Appreciate the input!

National brand sold out to SKF a few years back. (I don't recommend this either) I used to be a die hard National® fan until they sold out
Timken uses NTN brand bearings (same as OEM)
on rare occasion you'll find nachi bearings here/there.
