    The door looks great, I'd like to do my own, but I have not figured out the window frame yet.

    Kevlar has been traditionally been about 2/3's the cost of carbon-fiber. But carbon fiber has come way down in price. Kevlar is very hard to work with and if you have to pay more for it. forget it. BTW: the need for heat in the curing process is related to the resin not the reinforcement.

    Based on your picture's I am assuming your placing dry cloth, pouring resin and the spreading it in the mold.

    Try this technique, it will help if you think of it as making your own pre-peg. Place the dry cloth between 2 sheets of plastic, pour the resin on the cloth (under the top layer of plastic), spreed the excess resin to the edges of the cloth, cut the cloth/plastic to size and then place the piece in the mold (and don't forget to remove both pieces of plastic). It's a bit time consuming, but your parts will come out lighter and stronger.

    Don't know if these pictures help or not. These where taken right before I mixed the resin. I made 2 parts, one of kevlar and one of carbon fiber and cured them under the same vacuum bag.

      Yes, i lay dry cloth and dob on epoxy resin. Than place peeler cloth, breather cloth and sheet on top ov everything, than plastic to seal everything and vacuum it.. Breather cloth should soak up all excessive resin (that's the idea with vacuum bagging).

        This is as much an art as it is a science and what works for me may not work for you. There are just so many variables. All you can do is try it and find what works best for you. Looks great so far.

          Well boys, after a while I'm back.
          Progress has been a bit slow on the car.

          My brother flew home for a short vacation and we did some work.

          We made an adapter plate to install the new brake cylinder and fitted the reservoir for the clutch cylinder. We also installed new control arm bushings, outer tie rod ends, ball joints and sway bar links.

          I also ordered more parts. The new ECU came in. It's the newest Haltech Elite Series. SWEEEEET!!

          Also order the battery tray which will be mounted in front of the front right tire. With that i also order a steering column adapter, a switch panel, and some extra stuff to help with fabrication. All from Applied Racing Technologies. Those guys are awesome!

          I had my friend make me a block off plate for the original water pump, it came out pretty awesome.

          As you can see it fits perfectly.
          Since I'm using an electric water pump, I'll weld on -16AN fittings on the radiator, on the water neck next to the filler cap on the engine, and on the water neck beneath the disty.

          So i finally decided to drop in the engine. I bolted up the old oem flywheel (so i can start the engine later on), and fitted the tranny on the engine. It took some fiddling with the hoist but me and my girlfriend managed to put the engine in.

          The engine will come out back shortly, because I'm going to make the mounts solid by fabricating metal sides and weld them on.

          I test fitted the new radiator, and seems like it's only gonna fit sideways. This means I'll have to get my friend to weld shut the filler neck (gonna use the one on the engine anyways). I'd also have to modify the brackets to bolt the radiator on the frame.

          Next step will be the brake lines. I bought napa brake.line and i just have to bend them to fit.
          I'll have to fit and weld down the hand brake and find a place to fit the line-lock for the rear brakes.
          And try to see how i can fit the seat and bolt it down to the floor.

          I think I'm going to modify the oem intake manifold to fit the bigger injectors with the rail, and try to weld on the bigger throttle body.

          That's it for now, things are moving kinda slow, but it's looking to get better now.

            your messing with the flow of the radiator flipping it on its side. not sure how much it'll effect things, but something to consider.
            are you/have you dont anything about the oil pump. I know the V6 likes to do chuck oil pumps

              Since I'm using a powerful electric waterpump I don't think it should be that bad of a deal.

              About the oil pump, I'm gonna use the stock one, since the engine will remain conpletely bone stock. I never did any research about modding the oil pump, maybe if someone here knows, they might share some info with us.

              The plan for now is to run a mild turbo kit/setup without exceeding 10psi. I should be able to make about 250hp and that should be high 10sec in the 1/4 mile.

              Later on I will run a dry sump oil system on the engine. That's if and when I land a good sponsor.

                Good evening all!!

                It's been a while since I posted.
                Progress on the car is a bit slow, but there is progress!!

                Lets start with tranny and engine.
                Since the car was outside in my open air garage, we had a **** load of rain at the end of last year, and somehow the engine filled with water.
                Had to disassemble the engine completely, some pistonrings got completely stuck with water sludge.
                Installed new rings, new bearings, new headgasket (copper sprayed it).

                For the transmission, I bought the HydroMotorsports billet plate, and had my friend machine down the tranny case and we fit the plate.
                I also deleted the 5th gear gears, because for the 1/4 mile I won't be needing it.

                I decided to chop of the front end of the car (still kinda regretting it, because of all the custom fab related to this).
                I made solid engine mounts myself, came out sturdy, and they look cool.

                We also modified the filler neck and another piece of coolant tube to fit -16an fittings.
                One end will fit up to the electric waterpump and the other end to the radiator.

                    Opportunity presented and I bought a donor MX-6 LS, I think this is the last manual v6 on the island, so now I have 3 engines and 2 trannies. It's the only way to go when drag racing, spare parts and more spare parts.

                    Intake thermal spacers finally in hand. this will keep the head from transferring heat tot he intake manifold. Just trying to keep the Intake Air Temps down.

                    After mounting the Y pipe and the turbo flange, I realized that I couldn't run the "water to air" system because of where the throttle body was.
                    So I turned the intake manifold around and whatta ya know, perfect fit for ALMOST everything!

                    BUT, like everything else on this built, with the throttle body on the right side, meant we had to make changes to the water neck and filler witch was right under the TB.
                    we chopped it off and weld it shut. When I buy the radiator and run the coolant lines I will see where we'll fit a filler neck.

                    I also had my friend make me 4mm spacers for where the Y? collector bolts on to the headers, because at first it didn't bolt up properly and the Y collector was hitting everywhere.

                    The turbo was finally bolted on, and I can finally see how to route the charge pipes with the "water to air" intercooler.
                    I want to mount everything as low and as up front possible. It's looking good.

                    My friend also welded the -12AN bungs on the valve covers for the breather lines. The front one did not come out as I wanted, so we are gonna try that again.

                    Next I will do the fuel cell, and weld tabs to mount the intercooler.
