What you are buying:
A running, drivable 1993 Escort 4 door LX (1.9/5spd) with just under 150K miles for $350 located near Dallas TX USA
Why you would want it: (all installed on car)
• Complete MX-3 Lower Control Arms (fronts/rears)-widens track for better handling
• MX-3 rear tiebar-reduces flex
• 94 GT 4 wheel discs
• Wagon front swaybar
• MX-3 rear swaybar
• E.S. Bushings (rear control arms, LCAs, rack/pinion, shift rod bushing, sway bar endlinks), and a new (in package) set of fronts comes with the car (they need to be replaced)
• Upper strut tower braces (F/R) Ebay Specials
• 15” 98 Escort wheels with 2 pretty new tires and 2 30%-ers (195/60-15s)
• Monroe Gas matics with 1 coil cut off stock springs. Rides good but I would replace the struts (they are 5 years old)
• 1.25 in hitch
• Short shifter (modified stock (move the ball)) plus Home Depot spacers…short throws and lost much of the sideways slop so common in these cars
Interior is all there
• Power windows
• Power locks
• No sunroof (bummer, I know)
• Low end stereo (removed all the good stuff)
• Extra 12 v port in center console
Lots of spare miscellaneous parts (main power window switch, asst relays, shifters, shift rod, calipers)
ES front bushings-new in package
Spare, rebuildable F trans (I bought to have, but never needed)
Bottom Line:
You are not buying a new, or even beautiful car. You are buying the “handling kit” many have pursued by searching every junkyard or post on this or other forums.
I don’t want to part it out, so please no “offers” or “asks”.
I will sell by 7/15/16 or it goes to the crusher.
I only offer to sell it as I know what it took to find/remove/install the parts list below and I am hoping to help a brother (or sister) in the Escort/Protégé community.
Please note the car will not pass inspection in Texas. The title is clean and in my possession. No liens, rebuilt/salvage/etc.
You could drive this home but the inspection and registration is out, so you would be doing so on your own volition.
I do have a new catalytic converter, and believe that if that were installed the car would pass. The converter is for sale for $125 in addition to the purchase price of the car - with this ad (listed for more on Ebay).
Basically if you want all the suspension goodies in one package to upgrade your ‘scort or Pro…my thought is you are buying everything you need to perform the swap at your leisure then getting (most/all?) your money back by scrapping the remainder.
AC does not work.
