I was sitting for about 4 years, luckily garaged. I checked it all out drained oil and coolant refilled it with some fresh stuff. And boom fired up. Unfortunately something has grenaded in the center diff the prop shaft is super loose and clunks when we pushed it into the garage. Time to tear into it and see what went, pinion, bearings, ring, I have no idea at this point. I even scored a Mazda Shop manual for it. I am looking forward to getting this back into running order. I love my other BF that my wife and I race rallyx in. This seems like the next step for us AwD This is my first turbo car, so I get to learn about that too.

Man and I thought I got my car for cheap! Does that have GC subaru impreza hood vent?

They sure look like it. Luckily whoever cut the holes kept them tight to the vent. But I will most likely fix that when I get rid of the sunroof.

Well its not in the transfer case luckily. But so far no luck on tge prop shaft cv joint. Tomorrow im heading to OC drivelive to see what can be done to make it stronger and easier replaced if it fails again

This was only solution we found.
cut off ttlhe cv presses in u joint from apparently an f150. That was the closest fit somewhere around 68mm. Then they cut the driveline and added a slip yolk.

Axles can be rebuilt easily. Likely your driveline shop can do those as well.

I know I could rebuild them. And I might for spares but this car is destined for windy gravel roads . And based on the prop shaft the previous owners drove it hard and put it away wet. I just want it as tough and reliable as possible.

Getting the seams welded on all the diff mounts and around the control arm mounts. Dropped off the subframe today. I am going to rebuild the axles. And just go though the diff. Dont want any surprises.
