As long as we get enough interest (i.e 5 confirmed of a particular fitment), we can proceed with the design and manufacture of it

Cloud strife, just jump on it as it's a good deal and I like the business philosophy strategy behind it all.

I also have my injector adapters made in China but that's why I assemble each kit before I ship. Mostly QC and it's easier for the end user. If I just grabbed 4 adapters out of the box and shipped them to people I would have a lot of returns.

just chiming in to say that I love the FA500s on my drift car, ugly colors and all.

also if I still had something BG-related I'd be all over these, but since I have a CM5 now I'm stuck with either $500 garbage or the BC-knockoff class

Yeah, the colors have actually grown on me lol.

I agree 300 about the business philosophy, it's an important thing to me because it usually communicates a good support, warranty, and QC practice.

I'm glad you QC your stuff, as well as the YCW guys, as many of those business majors/entrepreneurs never fully grasp the principle of QC, and ultimately adapt the "drop box" philosophy by shipping things from China without ever seeing the product physically.

You can put me down as a confirmed buyer for a BG variant set. When would you need a deposit by?

Thank you for the support guys, it is sincerely appreciated

As the coilovers are a new venture for us (as most of you already know, we are more known for our specialist drivetrain products), we made sure to spend significant time researching into whether or not to expand into this market. We saw a gap/opportunity for mid-range coilovers as most currently on the market are either your sub-$1000 budget offerings, or your $2000+ mid/high end stuff; who really wants to spend $2k+ on their street car?

After we saw the gap, we still had to do more research into what customers disliked, liked, and loved about their coilovers, with clear trends emerging. This gave us a clean slate to start with, and allowed us to design the coilovers from scratch, making sure every single component is the best it could be (for the budget, of course) and leaving out stuff that simply was not necessary (like million-step adjustable simultaneous compression/rebound! lol). Of course, being neighbours to a Tier-1 facility that actually manufactures for ThyssenKrupp Group does help (you can guess the brand, but please don't post the name of the brand up), as it allows us to mutually transfer technology (we get their piston/valving technology. They get our machining capabilities for items like our Chromoly Piston Rods), and we're the only aftermarket company to use ceramic piston rod guides on a street application (which is what Ferrari uses), as well as using Silkolene PRO RSF VI-460 (which is the best damper fluid on the market)

Although good value for money, we certainly did not "skimp" on the quality of our components. Put simply, over-engineered for safety and performance

With regards to the deposits, we won't start taking these until we get the confirmed numbers. I also need to double check with the engineer whether we have the BG files, otherwise we'll need to find a donor set of oem dampers/springs.

I think you did a great job identifying that gap in the market and and doing an excellent job of approaching it. From my experience, the niche chassis (anything not S13/14, DC2, AE86/88/92, EG/EK, etc. related) has followers which are interested in both quality and performance, not something with horrible race only spring rates and rebound.

I saw that you are basically a drivetrain specializing company when I checked your site, which actually would make me even more interested.

If you guys need a set of donor assemblies, I have what I believe to be are the (4) original shock/strut assemblies (for 94 BG) just gathering dust in the garage.

If we can get the required numbers, that would be excellent

tbh, 5 sets really isn't that much (or is it?). Guess I got spoiled by the 50+ in our last group buy on this forum for our Helical LSD! lol

Thanks for posting this to the FB group.

                          Few Q,s...
                          Custom colors?

Can you post the full range of adjustment testing? If possible, I would like to see a few sets tested side by side to verify the range of consistency etc.

What is the range of camber/caster adjustment?

Shot in the dark, but is there any way a 90a poly bushing could be substituted for the spherical bearing? I've never seen it done, but my issue with spherical is the loss in ride quality.

I am come up with more random questions after I have coffee, lol.

I can tell you from experience that ride quality that your referring to has more to do with crappy shocks than that spherical bearing.

I have a set of old KSPorts that I retrofitted with some MX3 Koni red inserts and the difference is night and day. Literally they don't feel any worse than stock suspension vs how they used to feel with KSport shocks, and this is with all the standard spring rates and components. 420lb front and 224lb rear spring rates. If I didn't tell you the car was riding on those rates you would never know it.

At the moment, it will be our standard red & black

As we don't have this fitment available yet, there is no way to determine the adjustment range for height/camber/caster; every car is different

While rubber mounts will dampen NVH, poly is the worst you can use as it's basically plastic I.e cheap, hard and doesn't last very long where movement is involved

Whilst we do use a spherical upper, we also utilise a radial bearing in the spring perch, which allows the spring to rotate independently of the mount, preventing coil bowing/binding

More importantly, choice of spring rate and valving makes a much bigger difference to ride quality

Lol a spherical bearing, when compared to spring rates/strut composition, will have almost no observable effect on suspension feedback and ride comfort. I'm sure it affects it somehow, but in a very marginal amount when compared to spring rates (and other coil factors).

So if you get 5 commitments, say, by the end of November, what kind of timeline do you think we could look at?
