I've been looking for a project car and ended up with a 1 owner 1991 ford escort pony, manual, and none of the frills, so light. The compatibility between the mazdas and the multitude of escort years are what hooked me. It has the 1.9 so not much interest in power until a full 1.8 can be built and installed - but need to get the chassis, handling and braking dialed first anyway.
Springs, wheels and tires are first on the list of upgrades - also need to get a front brake set up that allows me some options for pads and discs so that'll be the first swap (unless mx3 seats show up first).
