    Mazda 323f Astina BP+ HX35

    Hi all!!!
I was planning to make this thread some time ago but lost my password hehe.
    So back to the subcject.
Car is with me for a long, long time. It started as 1.6 with just power steering. Plan was to make OEM look classic with all japan extrass. 1.6 wasn't enough so I swapped engine to 1.8 and .... surprisingly after a year or so lack of power sickness returned. For some time I was going N/A route (head swap, polishing, adjustable cam gears etc.) and ended up realizing that: go BIG or go home :D. and then fun begun and car started to be less street and more DRAG..
enough for words time for some specs and pictures:

    Power:
In theory new engine should have: 128KM 157NM

    28.08.2009: 116 HP/148 NM - Power after swap from 1.6 to 1.8 DOHC
17.09.2011: 130,9 HP/167 NM - Pacesetter 4-1 exh. header, adj. wheel on intake cam -5° , CAI, MAF->MAP convercion, FI (Fuel implant mode in DET3 piggiback)
28.07.2012: 137,5 HP/164 NM - BP4W head, Throttle body bored out to 60mm, PTFe instead of normal gaskets on intake, adjustable cam wheels set back to 0, removed VICS
27.09.2012: 230 HP/241 NM - First dyno after turbocharging :0,45-0,5 bar. boost was controlled only by WG (now MBC/EBC etc.)
    02.04.2013:230 HP/ 270 NM - 0,5 bar, EBC (test 2 - boost controlled only by WG, test 4 - EBC)
    02.09.2013: 260,9KM 304NM - Test1- EBC set to 0,5 bar, Test2 – 4th gear 0,7->0,85 bar, Test3 – 5th gear 0,7->1,2 bar on revlimit, Test4 – 5th gear and retarding ignitron instead of advancing + fuel cut…
    07.11.2013: 291,6KM 296NM - Test1 - 0,7b/4000 ->1.3b/7500, Test2 - 0,7b/4000 -> 1.1b/7500 (ignition advanced by 2 degrees)
    18.09.2014 - 359KM i 367NM - Test 1 - 1 bar, Test 2 - 1,5 bar
    14.07.2015: 397KM i 368NM at 1.5-1.6 bar
Now: ???? but should be 500++

Last season I had some fuel issues (injector filters were getting clogged). My predictions are that alcohol went into some strange reaction with oem fuel rail, so in December I made a new stainless steel one:

      Thx.
      I'm from Gdynia (Poland)

Racing Custom Parts are making all kind of adapters (gearbox, brakes etc). If You click on RCP in my engine spec it should get you on their page but to make it easier

Don't have any pictures up to date, sorry, but here's something from past - it didn't change too much (the difference is that now there is less metal )

it's difficult to say. I bought this dog set as used from friend and he didn't remembered ratios, but based on logs it should something close to this:
              1st: 3.0
              2nd: 2,15
              3rd: 1,53
              4th: 1,13
Final drive 3,944 (it's oem gear from FZQ gearbox)

I'm reving engine to 8600-8800 rpms so for this time it turned out perfect ratio since I'm finishing close to 8300 rpms.
The downfall of this that there is not much room for improvement. I guess if I rev it to 8800 it should go to 225-230km/h.
Also 10.69 was done without wheelie bars and 1.8bar of boost. PLan for 2017 is 2-2.3 bars + 75 nitrous shot and WB (the should allow me to get better 60ft and loose some of trap speed) I hope it will be good enough to get to low 10s.
If gears will be too close then I will have to fit longer FD or get some 26/10 slicks. Season will tell.

Mazda G-series outer CV joint has 24mm shaft. The one I have are 31mm (in middle I think they have 34mm?)
If you're asking about price I have to check this

                      Time for a small update.
In april I had a crazy thought to change turbo for something bigger, and this ended up wit buying used HX52 :D
                      HX35, HX40, HX52, Garrett GT20?

So now I had to rebuild almost everything.
Exhaust header wit 4 EGT probes and front mount turbo layout:

Next problem was that IC turned out to be mounted to high so had to modify it:

I always admired exhaust tips shaped in teardrop, so since mine was going through the hood I decided to give it a try:

Also during first test runs I had a lot of problems with rust in fuel system. So I removed previous tank and lines and made completely new fuel system. I wanted to put fuel tank in front of car so the only option wast to fabricate this on my own.
I ended up with about 12liter fuel tank, also to avoid any rust all connections were changed to aluminium ones:

After all this at the last TTT event (16.09.2017) I was able to make a 9.942s pass. There was a lot of bugs and mistakes in this run so even better news is that there is still room for improvement... and I still didn't use nitrous :D
