    The correct belt size

Hey everyone. I've always wondered if this is correct or not. When I removed my air conditioning pump when I put my downpipe in I had to downsize the belt I needed so I had installed a belt for a escort GT 1.8 without an air-conditioning pump. Ever since the it sounds quite noisy still drives fine and all but it almost sounds like a bearing hum especially at low idle. It did this more or so when I installed the new belt. Is there a specific size I should be looking into such as a custom length size or did I do the right thing by installing a belt for a car without an AC pump.

    a) you'd have better luck getting answers if you put this thread in the right sub-forum (say, the one for Escorts instead of General Automotive)
    b) that belt should be fine, if the belt were too small you wouldn't have been able to get it on the car in the first place and if it were too big it would be squealing
    c) if it sounds like bearing hum maybe you should see which one of your accessories is making noise. start with power steering and alternator

Ya I get confused on the Tapatalk app. Not the best setup. After diagnosing today it's not my power steering belt or any of those accessories it's either my water pump or alternator I've determined.
