    Help me hahaha

Okay i am not foreign to how turbo's work. But the info on turbo bp's has me confused. So from how i understand it the bp26 manifold mates right up to the vj20? And their bolt spacing and diameter are something crazy unique?

This is cross posted on FEOA

Because i do feel sticking with a bp26 manifold is easiest. But ill take whatever advice anybody can offer!

tbh you don't want something similar, the VJ20 is pretty badly undersized for a BP. if you're dead set on using a stock BP26 manifold (which, okay) try to hunt down an adapter plate for it to be able to use something with a T2 or T3 flange. then figure out what your goals are to size the turbo appropriately.

My goals are not super high. I want it to spool fast so small is nice. I was actually thinking of using a turbo header. Not the stock manifold. I wouldnt mind hearing what all you have to say.

the stock BP26 manifold is a turbo manifold though? or did you mean some tubular jawn

something like a 2560 is probably what you're looking for- won't spool quite as fast as a VJ20 but won't choke itself out at 6500ish rpm either. I have something similar on my S13 and between that and the cams, it's like having a baby V8- there's power everywhere.

I wouldn't bother with cams for 250whp. my turbo EGT had a BP05 with a VJ20 that I eventually put BP26 cams in and it made literally no difference, my wagon had some Mike323 regrinds that made it idle all sick and probably made more power but I mostly put them in because I got them in a trade and had them lying around. only reason I have cams in the 240 is because it's a drift car and I wanted to shift the powerband up a bit and it turns out you can do that with a combination of factory stuff.

uh the EGT had a BP26 manifold at first that eventually got swapped for a PSC tubular one because it had the EWG and IHI internal gates ****ing suck, that manifold survived to make it to the wagon but it cracked between a couple of the runners. honestly you could get some tubular stainless ebay thing and as long as the turbo is braced okay and you don't do anything too dumb you'll be fine. idk if they make them for the BP but I've seen some cheap ebay manifolds with really awful bends, so obvs avoid those.

                      and yeah, it's like... between a T25 and a T28 I think. I forget, I haven't thought about this **** in forever.
