Hmm, allright then.
The work so far:
Drove to Iowa, met Joel, checked out the car, bought it.
Drove it home.
Parked it.
Got License Plates.
Swapped it for my wagon on my insurance (wagon's down until I can finish the build.)
Scraped parking stickers off the windows.
Took off the inner side panel of the trunk, so I can reach the gas-door release.
Got the title from the DMV yesterday.
Today, I ordered a clutch. (ACT Z62-HDSS) for $347.17 shipped. Not bad, I thought. Haven't ordered a clutch in a while to know if that's a good price, or if I got pwned.
Ordered a lightweight flywheel too, FlyinMiata has a 10.3lb (steel) one for $295 + shipping. (which turned out to be about 24 bucks I believe).
Actual work on hold until the parts come in, which means that I won't be able to drive the car in the RallyX on the 21st.
ah well.
I've taken no photos yet, I'll get those sooner or later.
Musings for its future:
I've got a nice new SS exhaust manifold (thanks skuce!) and a GTR intake (thanks smoke187!), which means that my Wagon could possibly get a T3 of some sort, and go crazy. Which would leave a GTX intake and exhaust that can go on the Protege. Need to decide on an LSD for the rear, and put in my GTX transmission (viscous center diff) when I put in the new clutch/flywheel.
The transmisison is a certainty, the rest I'm not 100% sure of. It would definitely be kinda neat, though!
