    VAF plug comparisons

The plug in the first pic is a BP 05.
In the second pic, I compare it to a harness from a GTX which is the plug on the left. (sorry about the upside down orientation, I didn't know I'd be doing this comparison)
In the last pic, I have a B8.
As far as I can tell, the B8 and BP 05 are the same. The question I have is will the BP 05 harness work with the BP 26 ECU without doing the fuel pump work around?

I think so but confirmation is always nice.

do the gtx and gtr not use the afm for the fuel pump, that could be the difference....

If I remember correctly, the GTX and GTR use the ECU for the fuel pump. The work around that bpt323 did uses the VAF which is how the BP 05 was made originally. The plug from the BP 26 is missing two wires and I think that's what they were. It makes sense anyway.

I used the plug off my BP 05 harness because the BP 26 harness didn't have those two extra wires that I needed for the work around, and I couldn't figure out how to de-pin the plug so I could do it properly. I ended up cutting the wires which is where I'm at now.

I wonder if I should have used the B 8 harness instead since it's the one that came with this chassis? Oh well, I'm already invested in the BP 05 and I know it will work eventually. I think all I have to do is solder that VAF pig tail on and I'm good to go.

I'm not sure though. My memory sucks and it's been too long.

I depinned the ECU's control for the fuel pump & left it up to the harness

the last 2 terminals there are a grounding system to trigger the F/P relay @ the ECU

light green is grounded by the black wire when the motor is turned over/running

any of the stateside harness's can be made to work with the gtx/r systems

So what would this result be from depinning the light green and the black wire? I know you say that the relay at the ecu controls the fuel pump. So with the harness using the ecu to control the fuel pump what is the gain/purpose of this with the gtx or gtr ecu over running a stock us bp harness?

the only reason the GTX/R ecu's are controlling the fuel pump system electronically is because of the dual pump setup--- transfer pump & main fuel pump due to the split tank design. theres alot of integrated BS that goes with that

My ecu originally did not recognize to trigger the fuel pump. which put me searching for other options we have today
