The new aluminum radiator is pretty.
I got the bottom mounts moved and welded. More tomorrow I hope.

    The next day.
It's secure as can be both top and bottom. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. The hoses seem to be a bit hard to come by for some reason but I'm still working on it.

I bought the fasteners for the fan so I'll try and get those on some time today too. I went with the plastic ones reference earlier in my work log. Thanks Sarge

You can't really see the sticky foam squares that are on each back but it's there.

All there is left to hook up is the fans and it's all ready for coolant.

The necks on the new radiator were bigger than the ones on the OEM unit so the old hoses wouldn't fit, and since the lower pipe was in a different position, I was going to have to change it out anyway. The guys at the new OReilly's down the street let me go behind the counter and sort through the hoses until I found one that would do the job. The pics tell the tale.

I probably won't show me hooking up the wire nuts for the fans so use your imagination.

It's a 12" Spal fan I bought off one of our fellow members a while back. I tested it a few months ago and it almost jumped off the table from the torque. It's pretty bad ass. I have a standard OEM fan on the front that I see on a lot of other cars. I tested it tonight to see how well it worked and to see how to hook up the wires to make it turn the right direction. It seemed to turn fine but it rumbled like Gandhi's belly. I'm going to keep an eye peeled for another one.

Your upper mounts make me a bit nervous. Are you using any type of rubber between them and the radiator and between the rad and core support? If not, do so. I'd hate to see you rub a hole in that thing. Other than that, looks good!
Too bad I have AWD and you don't!

stupid angled filler neck is stupid.

why'd you buy an Escort one instead of one for a Protege?

You know, I was wondering about that. I thought it looked cleaner without but will address that as a concern. Thanks.

                            Aluminum. And yea, it's stupid.

I could've sworn they made an aluminum Pro/323 radiator and a few guys on here have one, guess I was mistaken
