So are you the 'as of yet unnamed' second tester?

Forgot to reply to this, but I am *really* glad that you're doing this. I was going to mention it somewhere that max torque handling is good, but if it can't do its inherent job properly (transfer torque where needed), then we might as well all get Phantom Grips.

I wish. I'm pretty sure my co-drivers and I could put a diff through it's paces. My car has had over 100 runs on it just in the last 3 weekends with several Solo II National Champions driving it. There are only a handfull of agressively built autox/track G-series cars around that could be good testing platforms. I'm hoping we get some good feedback from whoever it is. I'm in a rush now to get my car back together before the Blytheville ProSolo and Tour at the end of May. I think I'm on the extremely short list (maybe the only one on it) of N/A Proteges that have broken a "revised" Mazdaspeed LSD.

I should have. I didn't figure an N/A car would have needed it. My big tires beg to differ. This was the revised LSD that was supposed to solve that issue.

I'd talk to mazda and see what they can do about that diff. Replacing it at a discount should be in order.

I'm going to contact Mazdaspeed Motorsports tomorrow. I don't plan on using a MSP diff again, but it would be nice to have a functional one I can sell.

I had my doubts about the revised unit, boy am I glad I didn't go for it.

I'd love to test the diff as well, while I don't have the grip and tire that XelderX has, I do make a good deal more torque, and certainly could put it through it's paces both in autocross and on the road course.

For your consideration

Autocross:

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/M...-on_156052.htm

Miller Motorsports Park:

Of course, with one in a DSP car, and another in an STX car all bases would be covered

Mfactory, I've seen in the HondaTech.com reviews that your diff used Belleville washers to apply some pre-load to the axles to prevent open-diffing should one wheel come off the ground, say over curbing on a road course. How much pre-load to the washers apply? Is this adjustable?

The washers are more for noise-control than pre-load

They are used to prevent slop/delay in response when you go on/off the throttle. Without them, the lsd will still function, that's why I just call them noise-control :p
