FS: Fully Built Turbo Escort GT-R

    Large pictures here: http://www.wihandyman.com/forum/showthread.php?t=47501

It pains me to write this to some extent but all things have a conclusion. It is time to put a conclusion to my Escort. Many of you know what has gone into this car and I would love to see it go to an enthusiast. I am not in a rush and can wait for the right person to purchase the vehicle. I have some flexibility on the price, but you also have to consider the extra parts that come with the vehicle (VJ23 turbo, roll cage, many misc replacement parts, stock wheels, etc ...) and the fact that the car is complete and passes emissions.

If it doesn't sell, I will be enjoying it again next summer.

I prefer not to part out for now, so don't ask about that if that's your intention.

If you are asking for my reasoning to sell - well - the project is complete for me. I have learned lots and done lots and frankly don't drive the car as much as it should be driven. Having it sit and take up garage space and having to pay for insurance adds up. It's time to move on to new projects and I can't do that until I send the Escort off.

I WILL STILL be building MS units for the community and we are launching some new and exciting products in the new year. Alas, I still have the auto 94 Protege LX.

Ask me any questions you may have if you can't find the answers below:

This has been my pride and joy for over 5 years. I have built this car up to what it is today from the ground up. The car is very reliable - you can drive it to the track and back home and everything functional in the car is new or almost new.

The car makes around 280-300whp at 18-20psi. The turbo and motor are capable of in excess of 350whp On low boost(15 psi) it traps over 107Mph on street tires. The modifications/build are listed below. Some highlights include a full forged motor, LSD transmission, fully tuned standalone. The parts chosen are OEM or better to retain reliability and driveability.

The car passes emissions and has done so for the last two years without issues without removing ANY parts from it. This can truly be a weekend warrior and a grocery getter. It is best suited for someone who will take it to the track and around corners .

The car has its exterior blemishes. The paint is not in great shape as is expected of an 18 year old car. It was never meant to be a show car, it was always meant to perform and be driven. There are some dents and scratches and a tiny bit of rust at the bottom of the passenger side rear quarter that I have fixed and painted. There is no frame rust and no rust of the strut towers. The car has not seen any snow in the last 3 years as it has been garaged during the winter.

Chassis has 244 000km on it. The brand new engine, clutch, transmission have 10 000 km on them. There is nothing broken or wrong with the car and it can be driven to the track or mall the moment you pick it up.

    Parts list:

    - Protege side view mirrors
    - Bolt in 4 point roll cage that has not been bolted into the car yet
    - DSM coil pack for wasted spark
... The list is long and I would have to check my spare parts bin. If serious about purchasing the car, it can be driven away full of spare and next project parts if bought for asking price.

Pictures in my vB gallery, I can get detailed pictures as required:

The car is parked indoors for the winter and is located in Vancouver, Canada.

Asking price is 5000 USD and there is some room to play but it will also dictate what comes included with the car.

Thanks. This is not something to be sad about. It's simply moving on to new things. I should mention that an AWD BG would interest me if it were a GTR or was well built as a trade or partial trade.

Thanks Ryan. It's not sad, it's just moving on. Not sure if there will be a buyer and in that case I will still be enjoying it come warmer weather.

If it stops dipping into the below freezing when I get home from work I can pull the tranny and make it a driver I can include lots of parts including my other 323 as well..

Ah, if this were 2 years from now when I'm finished school, I would scoop it up. I always liked how clean your escort was. It saddens me to see it go. Good luck with the sale.

lex im not trying to be a jerk but 7K is out way high and your never going to get it. i know people with a lot more in to there cars in better economic times that couldn't pull that. don't get me wrong i respect you ant your builds but no one is going to be able to drum up 7K and no bank is going to loan someone that much for a 91 escort. my buddy had a problem getting a loan on a US legalized 94 cossie just 3 years ago because it was an "escort". i hope you can get as close to it as possible. best of luck and i hope some rich kids parents don't just cut you a check. <-- the reason i parted the red car.
