WTB GTX BP tranny for 90 AWD

    My work log

I called CorkSport to see if they still had the one I saw there from the swap meet but no luck. That would have just been too easy. Oh well.

I'm looking for something local in the $250-$300 range. As in local, I mean Portland, Vancouver area. I can travel but it becomes a problem the farther it gets.

Um, good luck with that. If I found one for that cheap these days I'd grab it like a hungry trout.
'90 AWD Protege, full GTR drivetrain swap, ~320 whp daily driver, RIP, and
'90 AWD Protege, yet another GTR swap, Open class rallycar with a Toyota GT4 gearbox swap, thus crossing the line between hobby and mental illness. And a Brabus E55 K8, removing all doubt.

Well how much is one worth these days? I can negotiate a bit.
I'm pretty sure I can come up with something if I'm just patient.

BTW, thanks for scooping me on my WTB thread

I think I have a lead on a couple. I only need 1 so will keep the other one under my hat in case someones interested.

What would help a lot is to have some pictures. A GTX vs a GTR, vs a regular 4WD Tranny.

              Edit-Sorry I wasn't very clear about that.

                ummm...

i'm pretty sure the entire gearset from a FWD will not fit an AWD... the final drive ratio is different for one thing...

I was asking because the G series on my 91 Pro has a jacked up second gear syncro. At least I think that is the problem. Rev the engine past 3 K and you can't shift to second in less than 2 seconds. It's not a problem in day to day driving but sucks ass when trying do a proper launch.

I was just asking anyway. No time or money for both cars right now.

Yeah wierd how that goes. First one I bought from corksport was like 300 even, then their supply dried up. Last one cost me 600. Now that the rallycar is going GT4 and its current gearbox is on the shop floor, it's now a spare for the streetcar. once it goes in and then breaks, who knows, maybe I'll have finally gotten tired of the car or something so I guess I'm not really in the market for a box, way to go finding one so quick.

It wasn't really that quick. I've been asking around for months. This thread was kind of a last resort actually. I threw out a call this morning to a source I knew but had already tried and sure enough, they had a couple.

I really wanted a GTR trans but could only afford it if I lucked into one.

so when are you going to have that GT4 conversion done? Also where did you source your rear diff? I can find the transmissions, but not the diffs.
