Mi|<e's BP engine

Thought id post up what I was up to:

Purchased a rust bucket and found under the hood was gold:






The head had stock silicon on it and had never been opened before, also a blue
mazda oil filter was on the backside.

I started to clean up all the pieces:









Took the block in to get machined 1mm/0.40 oversized:

This engines fate is undetermined. Ive been working on the head I'll post up pictures when its nearing completion.

You should take the cylinder head to a machine shop to get it cleaned and dye test it, and maybe a very very mild resurfacing.

Cool build, one thing I did not do on mine was change the rear main seal and now I regret it. Have to find the time to put a new one, it is leaking, but just lightly...

Nice project. Looks like alot of fun. I'm looking to rebuild my engine here pretty soon too. Care to share what kinda parts you are using as far as gaskets, bearings etc. OEM mazda way too expensive for my budget
