1994 Mazda Protegé DX

I bought this car last December from the original owner. At that point, it had 255k miles on it and a blown head gasket. The entire car was filthy, and the driver's seat and door panel had massive holes in them. Instead of repairing the high mileage engine, I got one from a totalled car in the junkyard. The current engine had just over 152k on it. While replacing the engine, we replaced various seals, clutch TOB and pilot bearing, fuel filter, coolant hoses, etc. We also replaced the damaged seat and door panel with pieces from the same car that donated the engine.

The car was a complete stripper from the factory, with the sole options being A/C and power steering. It had no radio, no passenger-side mirror, and power nothing. It even had the factory radio blockoff plate. Awesome.

It doesn't leak or burn any fluids, and got 36.3 MPG on the last tank of fuel. Perfect for a daily-driven car.
