    Kia sephia header?

i was reading up and saw that the 94 proteges with the BP05 had a better header design then the rest. i know there wont be awesome gains but i was thinking...there is a kia sephia in the junkyard locally and i was wondering sonce it was made after the 94 pro's would it also have the better flowing header? im asking because i might be needing a new one soon anyway, and if it flows better i might as well grab that one.

jitb37, your saying that the kia sephia's header is short enough to adapt a turbo too??? because i know that the EGT's are huuuuuuge compared to that one. and this would save me lots of money for my future turbo plans.

i think your confusing the facts here. the kia and the egt header are the same. its the egt manifold that is to long. if you trim off the the flange and part of the collector on the egt/kia header and get a turbo flange welded on it would be just fine. it will be well above the oil line.

I just picked up one from a junkyard because mine is cracked, and I think the one I got is cracked too. Sucks a lot cause it's only on the '94 LX. I did get an EGT one thinking that it would work but the downpipe flange is different so it didn't fit and I returned it. Also the EGT/'90-'93 LX style wieghs considerably more than the '94 LX style...the '94 style cracks at the collector in the center of the 4 tubes. Sucks a lot but I think I'm going to get mine or the other one I have welded up in that area and hopefully it'll work ok. Didn't check the Kias, so they have the EGT style?

thats kick ass, i'd rather go for the KIA header...has more style to it,and looks shorter...and also shows other people your just not a punk kid who doesnt know his cars and their capabilities and interchangabilities.

im slowly going to be working on a turbo project for when i get another EGT or protege, mines going to be more show than go...even tho she already goes. lol.

looks like this answered more than ones persons question

                    thanks

It was the same length, as the egt one, mine was cut shorter. they are the same everything. except that bar in the front. And the kia one also has a metal piping going into the side of it. which had to be cut off, and welded shut. So i would go with the EGT one.

Correct me if I am wrong but I belive because of a labor strike, Kia used the Mazda sourced "BP" in 96, and 97, Sephias...

they are probrably the same wieght. 94-97 sephia's have the tubular manifold, and prob the 94-95 GT's have the tubular header but im not sure.
