    intake mod?

Saw goldstar's thread. Didn't answer my question. Well today I decided to get an autozone intake. Guy told me it was universal and it wasn't. I know, pretty stupid. Can't order online yadadadadada. Anyway, this is what I plan on doing. The sensor mount is 3 in diamter. And the stock one is 2 5/8. Would it work? If I got some extra clamps or elbows?

Take it back. That cone filter will do absolutely nothing for your car.

stock intake. if you leave it will suck in hot air from the engine bay. the OEM filter and box is designed to keep out most of the hot air.

Agreed. Keep the complete stock intake system and modify it like goldstar has, or as close as possible. Trust me, I went through the same phase and got rid of all the stock stuff for a fancy chrome tube and a cone filter. I sincerely regret that decision and wish I had my stock stuff back.

If you do insist on going sort of custom route, whatever you do, keep the filter OUT of the engine bay. Sucking in warm air will do NOTHING for you and actually reduce power and performance.

yup .. all of the above advice is correct .. take it back . slap the penis-face that sold it to you and make more power following goldsta's advice.

think about where cold air comes into the engine compartment and look for ways to direct that air into the intake .. look at the picture you posted yourself with the red filter .. see how close it is to the exhaust manifold ? drive your car for 10 min and open the hood with it still running feel the air around the motor and remember .. the colder the air the more power you can make

Agreed with the others. I replaced my cone filter with the stock airbox again, cut the hole in the bottom bigger and kinda made a way for outside air to come through to the bottom of the air box.

I remember reading on a Honda forum about the best performing intake, and it was not AEM/Weapon R etc.....

It was actually kind of a tie between a Mugen and Comptech.......They were basically both oversized versions of the stock intake system, with added snorkels to the front for air intake, minus the OE resonators. The Comptech I believe was slightly better since it had a bigger snorkel going to the front bumper.

Another good example is this Mines R34 at 11min in the video: Stock airbox and the car makes far more power then yours.

Also, since I didn't have the original system, I simply lengthened my custom intake to put the filter in the corner of the bumper. Basically following the same route as the stock system.

Returned everything. Didn't smack the guy though. I'm going to be doing what it's saying in Goldstar's thread. Out of everything I bought none of them came with a sticker :/

If you're interested, I have an adapter that bolts to your airflow meter and puts the filter inside the fender compartment next to the coolant reservoir. It worked really well on my MX3, though it has a BPT in it. PM me if it's something you might want.

Please don't do it just for the damn stickers. I have plenty of stickers from Spectre (my intake), The Retrofit Source (my headlights) and Corksport, but I haven't put any of them on the car and I don't plan to.

I'm not doing it for stickers. I just get happy when I see a sticker in the box. I like stickers. You should send them to me. Haha.
