Branded my car and added a new shifter.

A little welding, grinding, cutting, grinding, ad rethreading and its ALIVE! (evil laugh).

    Enjoy.

I put a JIS reman bottom end, new oil pump, water pump, gaskets, etc etc, and a sub 120xxx mile head in Maxine a few weeks ago. My old 199xxx engine was smoking really bad after idling for maybe 3 mins, so instead of trying to pin point the problem, I just completely replaced it, and its components. No lifter tick, or smoke, ftw! I still have a little vacuum issue, which i hope is solved by buying 4 fuel injector kits. Enjoy!

No BP money. I would have had to buy another head, pistons, tensioners, another timing belt, valve cover, ecu, and whatever else. Plus, I was getting 35 mpg with the worn out engine, so I"m trying to mimic that here. I'm a poor college senior trying to streeeecth a dollar. But maybe a BP swap is in the near future. Imma total up the amount spent in a little while.

So, for the total swap, ie, the reman short block from a fellow cp member w/ the head, timing belt, water pump, plus the old engine, the exedy clutch kit with pressure plate, resurfaced flywheel, then the rest of the stuff that i bought, ie oil pump, gaskets, thermostat, hoses, belts, tranny mount, etc, I spent a grand total of $736.74, according to my receipts.

Not to bad of a deal. $40 more for a fuel injector kit, and I'm golden :-)
